Job Brief
School Teachers educate children between the ages of 2 and 11 under a prescribed curriculum to develop students’ literacy and numeracy skills and foster social, physical and emotional growth.
Subject areas within their curriculum include Mathematics, English, Science, Technology, Humanities and Social Science, Arts, Health and Physical Education.
As a School Teacher, you’ll use a variety of effective techniques and technologies to engage students with the learning process per their age, level of ability and individual needs.
You will also encourage the intellectual and emotional growth of children including reasoning and problem solving skills, creativity and self-expression.
Job Description
Preparing daily and long-term lesson plans per curriculum guidelines.
Teaching a full range of subject areas.
Developing children’s interests, abilities and coordination using a variety of creative activities including art, sport and music.
Maintaining productive working habits and discipline in the classroom.
Supervising students throughout the day, both in the classroom and outside during breaks.
Attending staff meetings and training and development sessions.
Discussing students’ progress with parents and guardians, administrators and other professionals as necessary.
Organising, attending and supervising school activities such as excursions, school concerts, camps and sporting events.
Assessing and evaluating students’ educational progress and abilities.
Setting and conducting testing.
Develop and deliver lesson plans that utilize a broad range of appropriate teaching techniques and strategies.
Address all aspects of communication through appropriate instruction that develops each student’s knowledge and abilities inappropriate grade levels and subjects.
Administer academic assessments for the purpose of evaluating student progress for meeting academic learning targets and progress in knowledge acquisition.
Establish and maintain standards of student behavior required to run an orderly and productive classroom environment.
Value and support students to achieve their full potential
Effectively manage the behavior of students
Engage in curriculum development and planning activities, individually and as a team
Participate in standardization/verification and moderation, as required
Ensure provision is aligned with best practices nationally
Take responsibility as required for the development of a relevant curriculum area
Take responsibility for achieving the section’s targets in retention, attendance, achievements, high grades, added value, and student satisfaction
Oversee assigned out-of-classroom activities during the school day, as needed.
Performs other duties as may be assigned by the principal or superintendent.
Requirements
Relevant Min. Qualification: First Degree, Master’s Degree with ICT proficiency an advantage.
Max. Experience 5 years (teaching in a Cambridge and British Curriculum School)
Teacher's license holder is very important
Proven Track Record: Longevity placement with exemplary classroom management skills; able to inspire and motivate students.
Highly organised. Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
