Job Title: Project Operations Officer

Reports To: Project Director, Rayuwa Nigeria Project

Job Summary

• We are seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Project Operations Officer. The position is full-time and involves regular field visits.
• This position will work with the Rayuwa project team to implement an integrated community development program with a focus on enhancing the performance of the team through project operational efficiency. The Rayuwa project is funded by the John Deere Foundation and is located within the Enterprise and Community Development division of PYXERA Global.
• The Rayuwa project involves collaboration with diverse partners and a drive to be continuously adaptive to the local context.
• The Project Operations Officer is expected to lead the formulation of strategies for project operations, supporting the improvement of and performance of staff, management of procurements and project resources, and ensuring compliance to project policies and values. Preference will be given to candidates with strong communication and report writing skills.

Key Position Responsibilities
The Project Operations Officer will work with relevant Project team members and report directly to the Project Director, Rayuwa Nigeria Project. The position will have the following responsibilities:

• Formulate strategies and operational objectives for the project
• Regularly review and improve operational management systems, processes, and best practices
• Ensure all operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective manner
• Liaise with local legal counsel to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Oversee office maintenance, and manage project properties, infrastructure, and assets documents.
• Maintain complete and up-to-date confidential personnel files for all staff.
• Ensure accurate administrative record keeping across field programs.
• Perform quality control and monitor project key performance indicators.
• Manage procurement, upkeep, and tracking of project assets, including proper documentation of procurement process through requisition Forms, Selection Memos, and Purchase Orders.
• In partnership with the Finance Officer, examine project financial data and use them to improve project efficiency.
• Perform supervisory role for subordinate staff.
• Perform other duties/tasks as required

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Project Management, Business Management, Finance, Accounting, or any other relevant field
• At least 6 years performing operations management role
• Proven work experience in program operations management
• Very good knowledge of organizational effectiveness
• Sound knowledge of business and project financial principles
• Excellent knowledge of procurement practices, preferably in development projects and programs
• Experience working on a multi-sector rural development project
• Strong people management skills
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task ‘smartly’
• Fluent in English, proficiency in Hausa languages strongly preferred.
• Good knowledge of Northern Nigeria is a plus
• Nigerian national, required.
