Job Description

Responsibilities

• Ability to manage and lead an investment team        
• Lead all financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management  
• Build and manages monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts and reports
• Advises on venture capital and private equity fundraising strategies    
• Develops strategies to increase return on investment and profitability      
• Oversees and reviews accounting tasks, including payroll, taxes, and compliance      
• Presents financial reports to executives, board members, investors, and other stakeholders.       
• Collaborates with the executives and directors to create budgets and track key performance indicators.     
• Oversight of transaction due diligence
• Negotiation of transaction documentation including sales and purchase agreements and other legal documents
• Deal structuring and other transaction related matters
• Liaising with business stakeholders, investors across all levels to achieve transactional goals in the international market
• Managing relationships with other stakeholders on financing requirements
• Conduct profit and cost analyses
• Oversee and manage a team centered around debt funding and debt investing
• Pitch clients with investment models suited to their needs
• Co-ordinate investment models that support and assist the client's needs effectively.
• Exceptional time management and ability to solve problems 

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field, ideally from an US or UK institution
• Certification CA/CFA/CPA 
• +7 years of proven work experience as a Corporate Finance Director or similar role
• FinTech industry experience is a plus
• Proven work experience in Africa 
• Experience working within the Big 4
• Strong experience in: 
  • Lending capital - start-up and traditional debt funding 
  • Structured finance investment 
  • Transactions advisory services
  • Capital markets
  • Financial modeling
  • Securitisation deals
  • Investor relations and communication
  • Corporate funds 
  • Experience within the African financial market as well as the African network
  • UK generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and Securities and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs)
  • In-depth understanding of capital markets, diligence processes, sales, relationship management, risk portfolio management and asset management
  • Hands-on experience in sourcing and closing deals and dealing with multiple investment deals
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation as well as a strong business skills
  • Possess good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with different stakeholders
