We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Electrician

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports To: Site Supervisor

Job Purpose

• To provide electrical engineering expertise to ensure a safe working environment for our clients’ occupants within their premises.
• Provide electrical advice to resolve any work-related issues relating to the execution of reactive, planned preventative and minor works. To ensure that all electrical systems are working at their optimal capacity.

Principal Accountabilities / Key Result Areas

• Be familiar with the critical infrastructure systems including, high and low voltage network, fire alarm, generators, UPS, lighting and access control systems etc. of the building.
• Establish to an educated level the layout of all electrical and mechanical plant rooms and secondary distribution points.
• Develop a clear understanding of the design and operating principal of all electrical and related building services plant and equipment.

Operations:

• Perform routine daily, weekly, monthly and yearly electrical systems maintenance tasks in line with the planned preventative maintenance schedule.
• Be responsible for site electrical tools.
• Troubleshoot and replacement of faulty, dead bulbs and switches.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults (open circuit, short circuit, partial contact) in electrical circuit.
• Troubleshoot faults on electrical motors, pumps. Report and give recommendations on repair/replacements.
• Troubleshoot and solve electrical faults in control panels for water treatment plants (WTP), sewage treatment plants (STP) and fire hydrant pump panels.
• Carry out minor electrical installations on sites.
• Responsible for the control of common area lights (where necessary).
• Work with the plumbers (site and mobile) in the plumbing system on the site.
• Take charge of the operating the generator where generator attendant is not available.
• Record generator running hours and keep generator check list up to date. Note service dates for generator.
• Take record of daily public power supply.
• Report to your supervisor on a regular basis regarding workload, quality of workmanship and key issues or challenges.
• Ensure that all works are carried out in line with company HSE policies.

Customer Relations:

• Implement the company’s customer service policy to ensure excellent customer service.
• Respond in a professional and appropriate manner to Clients, public, and internally with the company’s management and help desk etc.
• Canvas for new clients by visiting prospective building sites and projects.
• Setting up a strategy to find new prospects and sales leads and converting them into paid customers.
• Communicating with current and potential clients to understand their needs and offer solutions to their problems.
• Creating positive, long-lasting relationships with current and potential clients.

Qualifications

• Appropriate Electrical qualification: Technical School, OND or HND qualification
• 3 to 5 years post qualification experience within the maintenance services market sector preferably in a commercial or large residential environment.

Core Competencies:

• Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams
• Basic knowledge of the principle of the operation of air conditioner and refrigerator
• Basic knowledge on firefighting and prevention activities.
• Basic knowledge of safety.
• Be able to communicate effectively in English.

Requirements & Skills:

• Proven experience in sales and marketing in the building construction sector (minimum of 5 years). (Past experience in marketing tiles or paints or other building materials direct to projects).
• Should have a database of construction companies & architects previously networked.
• Good understanding of marketing and negotiating techniques.
• Proficiency in English.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
