Job Title: Veterinary Doctor

Location: Abeokuta, Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

• Manage work schedule of supervisors and attendants as well as enforce and ensure compliance with farm policies and procedures.
• Inspect farm buildings and equipment, ensuring routine maintenance is carried out and repairs are done when necessary
• Direct the breeding and raising of livestock, using recognized breeding practices to ensure stock improvement and high yield.
• Direct livestock waste recycling operations
• Remain up-to-date regarding market and industry trends
• Maintain high standards of animal welfare
• Keeping an up-to-date knowledge of diseases and control measures to prevent an outbreak or spread.
• Determine types and quantities of livestock to be raised according to market conditions and season.
• Carry out immunization livestock as and when needed.
• Carry out tests on consumables like water and feed to ensure they are right for each breed of bird.and research diseases to which livestock could be susceptible to.

Qualification and Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Medicine
• Additional courses in Business Management or Administration is recommended.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• The ability to make decisions in stressful environments.
• Superb communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work overtime as required
• Extensive experience in a farming-related field.
• A passion for livestock farming.
• Management experience would be a plus.
