Job Summary

• To provide technically excellent legal advice on a range of issues, whilst building and maintaining productive relationships with clients.

Job Objective

• To manage projects / cases / matters and supervise Associates within the team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Job Holder will:

• Provide, sound, quality technical legal advice and guidance to clients.
• Represent clients as assigned on cases at all courts, tribunals, and such other adjudicatory fora.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the business aspect of law practice.
• Represent and conduct all filing processes on behalf of clients and the firm before federal and state Courts and administrative agencies including but not limited to the Supreme Court, Federal High Courts, the State High Courts, Magistrate Courts, Tax Appeal Tribunals, Investment and Securities Tribunal, Corporate Affairs Commission, Security and Exchange Commission, the Nigerian Stock Exchange and other government agencies.
• Provide responses to client matters. Keep current and accurate time records and ensure billing responsibilities are discharged properly and follow up on fee notes promptly.
• Fulfill other responsibilities as may be delegated or assigned by the Managing Partner/Partners.

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies Required

• Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree
• Minimum of 8 years of post-call experience with excellent academic credentials.
• A level of interpersonal skills sufficient to enable the post holder to establish and maintain credibility and effective working relationships, with senior contacts both internal and external.
• Highly focused commercial approach to business in addition to legal flair.
• Concise and precise drafting skills combined with good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to project the Firm through thought leadership.
• Good eye for details and effective time-management.
• The ability to remain confident and assured in difficult circumstances, and to possess the resilience and stamina to sustain performance, particularly when under pressure.
• The ability to keep abreast of professional, legal, technological, and working practice changes and to impart such knowledge as necessary.
