Saroafrica International Limited (‘Saro’) is an indigenous private sector player with 3 decades of experience in Nigeria. Saro has five Subsidiaries (Saro Agrosciences, Saro Lifecare, Saro Agro-Allied, Gossy Warm Spring and Saro Oil Palm) and two Joint Ventures (AgriseedCo and Green Hills Agricultural Products). Saroafrica is set to become a leading consumer, manufacturing, FMCG and integrated agricultural value chain group. In pursuit of this ambition Saroafrica is making significant investment in a Palm Plantation and Cassava to Ethanol Plant.
He/ She will be responsible for formulating the Strategy of the Firm aligned with the Group Strategic direction, and full strategy execution consistent with the strategy implementation plan.
He/ She will ensure that all Unit Heads follow the Planning Framework in coming up with Sub-Plans & BIP that are also aligned with the company's Strategy.
The HOB will coordinate the Unit Heads in ensuring 100% alignment of their daily activities to the BIP (strategy execution).
The HOB will be responsible for the financial health of the business and thus responsible for driving the organization towards the achievement of the goals set in the Financial Control Levers by championing the development of policies and strategies for effective financial management, ensuring transparency and accountability and judicious use of resources.
Leadership:
The HOB will be responsible for coordinating the daily activities of the business and provide leadership to direct reports and entire staff.
He/ She must be an embodiment of the 6 Core Values of the Company and a Champion and diligent Observer of all the Operational Guidelines.
He/ She will be responsible for the proper functioning of the governance framework of the company (executive management, senior management, and general management) and a seamless of succession planning for mission critical positions for a smooth running of the business.
He/ She is also responsible for the development of relevant structures (People, process and systems) to support the achievement of the company's vision and goals.
He/ she will be responsible for interacting with external auditors on matters related to audits of the organization’s internal controls
Others:
The HOB will be responsible for driving corporate culture through shared vision and team building activities. Thus, motivating staff to accomplish business goals and objectives of the company.
The HOB will be responsible for ensuring that all processes and guidelines of the company are religiously adhered to and also responsible for continuously seeking out ways and means of improving on all the processes and guidelines related to all the Units of the Company at all times through process improvement plans he will be expected to prepare and execute yearly.
The HOB will be responsible for expanding the company’s footprint, oversee the formulation and implementation of effective Go to market strategies to achieve sustainable growth in customer base, market share, Efficiency of marketplace (based on Farmers Connection, Vendors Management and Efficient service delivery) Sales and profit.
He/ She will perform other tasks as assigned by the Group Managing Director & Board of Directors
He/ She will ensure performance management in the company is done as and when due.
The HOB will ensure proper and accurate reporting is done to the Board, Group Office, and other stakeholders.
He/ She will be responsible for the Saro Brand management in the company.
Education and Experience
2nd Class Upper from a relevant course of study, MBA will be an Advantage
A minimum of 10 Years at Business Management Level
Experience in Digital marketplace will be an advantage
Goods knowledge and use of Microsoft Office packages & ERP systems (Knowledge of Navision & SharePoint will be an added advantage).
