Job Objective
To develop and optimize economical industrial processes through efficient and reliable system and equipment design such that safety, health and environment are not compromised
Responsibilities
Conducting research on new technologies and alternative methods for chemical processes in order to improve efficiency or reduce costs
Designing and optimization of chemical manufacturing facilities, including generation of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID’s), Process flow diagrams (PFD’s), Utility Flow diagrams (UFD’s), and schematics
Performing calculations using scientific principles such as mass and energy balances, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, electrochemistry, and organometallic chemistry to design chemical processes
Conducting feasibility studies, designing processes, collecting data, analyzing results, drawing conclusions, and reporting findings to project stakeholders
Estimating CAPEX & OPEX implications of small, medium and large scale projects
Identify and lead manufacturing process efficiency and improvement projects
Oversee plant performance evaluations through comprehensive equipment design/sizing methods
Coordinate management of change and process hazard reviews
Developing standardized operating procedures / manuals (SOP’s) for different chemical processes.
Evaluating processes to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations
Perform risk assessment studies
Estimates project man-hour budgets, reviews, support to the lead process engineer on schedule and budget requirement
Troubleshooting problems associated with chemical & refinery processes
Perform process simulations using HYSYS, Pro II, and UNISIM etc
Drive adoption of best practices developed by Six Sigma.
Mentor and manage junior engineers

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum or any related discipline
8-12 years relevant work experience
Professional / Chartered Engineer (or equivalent)
