We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accounting Associate

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

About the Role

• To ensure timely preparation of month-end schedules, complete and accurate recognition of expenses and filing of statutory returns.
• You will report to the Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring timely posting of invoices and processing of payments to suppliers
• Perform Bank postings and Bank reconciliations
• Handle petty cash process in line with approved documentation
• Ensure accuracy in ascertaining and timely payment of all statutory obligations and filing with relevant government authorities
• Handle fixed assets by ensuring monthly updates and assisting in asset verification exercises
• Review transactions for completeness, accuracy, accurate documentation, and approvals before processing
• Preparation of the weekly cash flow plan
• Assist the accounting team in the timely close of the monthly accounts
• Maintain an accurate electronic filing system
• Assist in developing reporting processes, procedures, and internal controls for maintaining the efficient flow of all financial transactions
• Assist during audits for both internal and external
• Perform other duties as and when required by the Accounting Manager

Experience & Qualifications

• +2 years of overall experience in a similar role, audit experience will be an advantage
• Knowledge of any accounting software will be a plus
• Proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office tools
• ICAN/ACCA is an added advantage
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Fast learner and able to work in a team
• Ability to work under tight deadlines
