Role Summary
We are looking for a results-driven leader, manager, advocate, collaborator, and culture builder to build the Câm employer brand and attract and retain a diverse group of mission and values driven exceptional individuals.
You will be responsible for building a culture and environment where people can do their best work, and bring their whole selves to a workplace that is built on trust, inclusive, adventurous, where people’s decisions are led by both their heads and their hearts and where we make sure we milk every drop of fun!
The People and Culture Lead will be responsible for our culture practices and manage areas such as Performance Management, Employee Relations, Employee Engagement, Diversity & Inclusion, Policy and Procedure Development, and Compliance.
Essentially, this position is responsible for all actions that help our team do their best work, from the moment they are hired to the moment they transition into roles elsewhere.
This individual will oversee all people activities from attracting new candidates to retention and exit.
Responsibilities
Organisational Development & Culture:
Manage our work environment in a way that ensures employees are happy, motivated and productive
Build a strong employer brand and ensure all employees have a positive experience.
Contribute to the development and deepening of Câm’s culture through role modelling our values and the behaviours which drive this culture
Design and lead initiatives including research and diagnostics (e.g. annual employee engagement survey and exit interviews), to maximise the engagement and retention of all team members and build organisational commitment to the desired culture
Work in partnership with Câm’s Marketing and Communications team on effective internal and external communications in support of organisational development
Scope, develop and lead implementation of Câm’s Diversity & Inclusion Strategy
Track HR metrics and identify areas of improvement in attracting, retaining and managing teams
Allocate budgets efficiently
Talent Management:
Drive focused job design aligned to structured Workforce Plan and Job Framework
Ensure a clear Employee Value Proposition in support of candidate attraction
Ensure best practice, innovative methods and processes relating to the recruitment, selection and onboarding
Development of formal induction process and procedures
Develop workforce and succession planning processes.
People Development:
Partner with internal stakeholders to implement strategies for employee engagement and retention.
Build a culture of performance across the organisation with oversight, continued development and implementation of our performance review and appraisal processes
In conjunction with the executive management, ensure all Learning and Development is strategically linked to organisational needs and aligned to performance reviews and business planning processes
Collaborate with managers on developing plans for individual learning and training that will enhance employee growth and development.
Create a leadership development framework to drive development of managers, leadership capability and embed a coaching culture in support of delivering on strategic outcomes.
Participate in coaching, counselling and advising management and employees to ensure resolution of employment related matters.

Risk & Compliance:
Create and/or update organisational governance policies, processes and standards and external legal and regulatory requirements, ensuring alignment and adherence across the organisation.
Provide informed analysis of key people risks and advise on appropriate mitigation strategies
Ensure enabling, fit for purpose people policies and procedures are developed and embedded in day to day practice
Ensure continued modern and compliant employment contract suite
Ensure employee issues are dealt with in a prompt time frame and escalated in a timely manner where appropriate
Role Requirements
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 years of people & culture experience
Thorough understanding of people & culture policies and procedures, and knowledge of Nigerian laws and regulations
Familiarity with all aspects of people operations, including culture development, compensation, recruitment, benefits, training and coaching
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to lead meetings and presentations, and interface with all levels of employees with tact and diplomacy
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Experience managing dispersed teams
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and collaborative tools such as GSuite and Slack
Languages: Fluency in English (Hausa is a strong advantage)
