Signature Jobs was incorporated in November 2015 situated at FCT, Abuja, Nigeria. We offer outdoor catering/delivery services and engage chefs with unique expertise in African and continental dishes, freshly made salads and juices. We are a leading brand and our mission is to standout in providing hygiene and diet based meals for organisations and individuals in Nigeria.

Due to high demand and expansion purpose, we are recruiting to fill the position below:

General Position Summary

• The Chef will work with the culinary team to ensure food standards and consistency in taste and hygiene.
• He/She will responsible for developing new recipes and will analyze the performance of each of the dishes, get customer’s feedback from the food court team and proffer ways for improvement.

Essential Job Functions

• Lead, mentor, and manage culinary team to ensure that their duties are being carried out to the greatest extent of their potential
• Develop and plan menus and daily specials.
• Create prep lists for kitchen crew.
• Manage food costing and inventory.
• Maintain standards for food storage, rotation, quality, and appearance.
• Ensure compliance with applicable health codes and regulations
• Decide when and what (ingredients, equipment, etc.) to order from the suppliers. And in this regard, control the budget and keep accurate records to produce them before the restaurant administration.
• Ensure that the food provided is of best quality.
• Inspects freshness of ingredients.
• Monitor the matters of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen
• Maintain timeliness and ensure that none of the guests/organisations have to wait for long to have their rounds of food and beverages.
• Strictly follow the kitchen safety standards and monitor that his/her subordinates are maintaining them too.
• Looks after the functionality of the kitchen equipment to avoid any unwanted incident.
• Carryout routine checklist of task and equipment/utensils.
• Create Chef’s special menu for continental dishes.

Knowledge and Experience

• Minimum Certification in Culinary Arts
• 3+ years of kitchen experience
• Experience in leading and supervising junior chefs
• Experience working within budget constraints
• Professional, good organizational capacity, good human relationships, motivated, flexible, culturally sensitive
• Fluency in English and local languages is an added advantage.

Supervisory Responsibility:

• The Chef is to supervise the Kitchen Assistants of Signature Jobs

Accountability:

• Reports Directly to: Head Chef
• Works Directly with: Kitchen Team and entire team of Signature Jobs.

Living Conditions / Environmental Conditions:

• The position is based in Apo FCT, Abuja.
• Candidates must be residents of Apo environs only
• Accomodation during shift hours available.
