Job Title: Bartender / Mixologist

Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Description

• We are looking for a professional, high-energy bartender/mixologist with excellent communication skills to serve classical cocktails and exciting new beverages to our customers.
• The bartender will greet customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve beverages and food.
• You will also upsell items, create recipes, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties.
• You will be responsible for creating and crafting cocktails, alcoholic beverages, non-alcoholic drinks, and other concoctions and will often be tasked with inventing new recipes and perfecting existing ones to ensure that their establishment has a unique and desirable menu of options for patrons.
• You must also have an extensive knowledge of different types of alcohol, how they interact with each other when combined, and how they can be altered or enhanced by various ingredients or flavorings.
• This requires a strong understanding of chemistry and the way different substances react with one another under different conditions.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Welcoming customers, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders.
• Planning drink menus and informing customers about new beverages and specials.
• Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to customers.
• Should have a neat appearance, an engaging friendly personality, efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and personable
• Checking identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol.
• Maintaining a well- stocked bar, including all ingredients needed to prepare signature drinks and standard drink orders
• Preparing non-alcoholic beverages such as smoothies, coffee, tea, juice, etc. for patrons
• Preparing alcoholic drinks by mixing ingredients such as liquor, beer, wine, juice, etc.
• Preparing non-alcoholic beverages such as smoothies, coffee, tea, juice, etc. for patrons
• Preparing specialty drinks such as margaritas, martinis, daiquiris, etc. according to recipes provided by management
• Setting up bar stations with supplies such as glasses, mixers, bottles of liquor, beers on tap, etc.
• Taking inventory and ordering supplies to ensure bar and tables are well-stocked.
• Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations.
• Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register.
• Maintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment.
• Developing new cocktail recipes.

Requirements

• High School Diploma / OND / NCE / B.Sc Degree
• 3 - 5 years relevant work experience as a Bartender/mixologist
• Additional education, training, certificates, or experience may be required.
• Meets state minimum age to serve alcohol.
• Availability to work shifts and weekends.
• Positive, engaging personality, and professional appearance.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong task and time management abilities.
• Eye for detail and understanding of drink mixing tools and techniques.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc for extended periods, and lift up to 25 lbs.

Salary
N40,000 - N60,000 Monthly (negotiable).
