Job Purpose
The Radiologist will deploy expertise in the visual representation, analysis and interpretation of specific images relative to human body diagnosis.
Job Responsibilities
Review and interpret medical images to determine patient status and future medical care
Determine the exact images required for diagnosis and delivering orders to Radiographers
Administer trace amounts of radioactive substances to create and enhance diagnostic images
Perform minimally invasive surgical techniques such as embolization, angioplasty and ablation with image guidance
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary while working with patient primary consultant
Create a radiation treatment plan for patients with cancer
Compile written reports of results and diagnoses and share with the necessary offices
Review and interpret medical images to determine patient health status and the required patient’s future medical care
Administer trace amounts of radioactive substances to create and enhance diagnostics images
Perform or guide radiographers to carry out image-guided, diagnostic procedures.
Work with radiology lab technicians to perfect image quality.
Analyze and interpret the results from diagnostic imaging procedures to determine patient diagnoses.
Liaise with other key specialists and physicians to understand and communicate medical diagnosis
Communicate and discuss results and diagnoses with specialists and physicians.
Follow medical protocols for resuscitation, bleeding, infection, or other emergency situations, as necessary.
Perform minimally invasive surgical techniques or advise physicians with image guidance where necessary
Person Specification
Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Physical Sciences, or a related field with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) Degree
Valid and active practicing license.
8 - 10 years’ experience
Proven work experience as a Radiologist or similar role
Proficient in general radiology techniques, including X-ray and ultrasound. However, proficiency in CT and MRI scan techniques are highly essential for this role.
Knowledge of general surgical practices to help diagnose and treat injuries
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong motor skills and manual dexterity to handle small tools and imaging equipment
Must be able to work during the day, 8am to 5pm from Monday to Fridays
Advanced analytical skills and attention to detail to interpret imaging results
Ability to remain calm and focused in stressful situations
Patient management skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Superb problem-solving skills.
Work Hours:
Mondays through Fridays (8am-5pm); two Saturdays monthly (8am-5pm)
Work Structure:
On-site.
Salary
N1,500,000 - N2,200,000 Monthly (Gross).
