Ike Foundation for Autism (IFA) is a non-profit and Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) dedicated to serving all persons living with Autism in Africa and supporting them to live productive and fulfilling lives, irrespective of age, race, religion, sexual orientation, income levels or gender. IFA was established in 2008. It is registered in Nigeria and Maryland, USA respectively. Since its inception, IFA has evolved as an important Autism voice in Africa. It collaborates with local, African, and international NGOs to promote Autism awareness and advocacy across Africa. IFA has forged strategic partnerships with a number of other Autism NGOs in West Africa and plans to build such partnerships across all the sub-regions of Africa.

Job Title: Fundraising Officer

Job Brief
We are seeking to hire a seasoned fundraiser to join our tight-knit team. In this role, you will use your expert communication skills and keen sense of initiative to spot fundraising opportunities, develop relationships with potential donors, and manage fundraising campaigns.
By coordinating events, writing proposals, and recruiting and leading volunteers; you will hone your speaking, writing, and leadership abilities while moving IFA closer to its financial goals.
The ideal candidate will be motivated, professional, and organized, with a knack for research. We are looking for someone who believes in IFA’s mission to serve all persons living with Autism and will demonstrate an exceptional drive to further our existing fundraising efforts.
The Fundraiser will have several duties depending on the needs of the organization, but they typically will recruit sponsors and oversee volunteers, lead promotional activities build fundraising programs and lead/maintain communication with donors.
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision and liaison with the programs manager contribute to the planning and implementation of private sector partnership and fundraising strategy to promote the rights of children living with Autism and support IFA’s mission in the country by the establishment of effective communication/networking through partnership, collaboration and leveraging resources for the Autism community
Plan fundraising initiatives to help the organization meet financial goals
Writing funding proposals and sending these to potential sponsors
Maintain records of sponsors for annual outreach efforts
Organize campaigns that will lead to donations
Train volunteers to support outreach efforts
Creating promotional activities to create awareness of the organization’s mission and work
Cultivate a network of dedicated donors and volunteers
Form strong relationships with external stakeholders
Ensure major donors are satisfied and kept in the loop.
Requirements and Skills
University Degree in Marketing, Communications / Public Relations, Economics, Promotion and Commercial management; or equivalent.
Two years of progressively responsible or two years of practical professional work experience in a related area.
Knowledge/experience in the private sector, social marketing and partnership development is an asset.
Proven work experience as a Fundraiser or similar role
Creativity and persuasion skills
Good organizational skills
Strong leadership qualities
Relevant training and/or certifications in Fundraising are a plus.
Languages Required: English
