Job Title: Deputy Chief Accountant

Job Description
Ensure that report of the various units under its control are timely submitted on or before deadlines
Review Senior Accountants reports and follow up to ensure timely closures of identify discrepancies
Ensure accuracy of TB on related task before the locking dates
Advises on locking of inventory and ledger on or before deadline dates on related task
Submit report & schedules of Accounts under its supervision (costed shipments and shipment account heads, CTA analysis report for the month, fixed asset reconciliation with schedules of additions, disposals and write off, all costing and inventory received & costed during the month, prepayment & provision schedules.
Submit monthly report of Foreign main cash, main cash, petty cash count report, advances, and IOU.
Monthly report on shortage account with updated status of expected date of refund
Ensure that transitory inventory Account heads (1103005,1103006,1103007) are nil for both JMG and Jamara before respective locking date for both entity)
Ensure post cost grid for WIP and internal assets are closed monthly and reported with accurate balances.
Supervises and ensure daily, quarterly, and yearly stock count reports and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
Ensures that petty cash & imprest account are timely re-imburse--- aim is to ensure that operational activities are not affected by lack of funds
Ensures that customer payments are timely receipted and accounted for within stipulated time- aim is to avoid delays in delivery and ensure customer satisfaction
Monthly review and report on all imprest accounts disbursement- aim is to ensure that payments were duly approved with proper backups
Attend to Auditors on inventory and costing and all related task under its supervision during audits
Submit monthly report on transitory account
Ensure proper coordination of branch activities—aim is to ensure that same process is followed and maintained by all branch account department.
Ensure timely resolution of conflict and issues raised within its various unit
Train and re-train staff under its supervision on chat of account, new changes, and processes relating to assign tasks
Requirements
Education:
Degree in Accounting, Finance or it's equivalent.
Professional qualification - ACA, CMA, CPA, CIA or CFA will be added advantage.
Skills / Experience:
Proficiency in ERP systems
Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, provisioning, principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Efficient and effective time management
Ability to meet deadline
Supervisory skill
Ability to manipulate large amounts of data with strong analytical skills
Excellent problem-solving skills
Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices

Remuneration
N350,000 - N550,000 gross monthly.
