We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Research Associate

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: The Research and Publications Manager.

Role Description

• This role requires a proactive individual who is self-leading, demonstrates initiative, identifies opportunities for operational or implementation research, leads the development of articles and other kinds of publication, and ensures the organization is constantly improving its visibility, thought leadership, and contribution to the body of knowledge across its areas of interest.
• This individual must pay attention to details and be strong in analytical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Support project/program teams in project study design, and development of research tools, data collection, and analysis plans
• Support data analysis using various statistical methods.
• Author and/or curate research reports to detail findings, insights, implications, and recommendations.
• Curate and present reports to summarize data and the impact of the results.
• Participate in problem-solving, ideation and capacity-building sessions including new staff onboarding and staff mentoringprograms
• Participate in periodic performance reviews and provide feedback to team members for performance improvement as applicable.

Requirements
Successful candidates should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Bachelor's Degree (first or second-class upper) in any STEM field is essential. A master’s (or Ph.D.) degree is desirable
• At least three years of professional experience in research with the application of advanced data analytics is essential
• Proven experience in writing and publishing research or academic articles (evidence of this will be required)
• Proficiency in diverse research methodologies
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• The ability to take initiative and work in a fast-paced environment, with minimal supervision
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent planning and prioritization skills
• Results-orientedness
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
