The National AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Infections Control and Hepatitis Programme (NASCP) is a division of the Department of Public Health, in the Nigeria Federal Ministry of Health (FMH). The concept of NASCP and its mandate is to coordinate the formulation and effective implementation of the Nigeria government policies, guidelines and standard operating procedures for the prevention of new HIV infections as well as improve on the existing treatment, care and support for those persons already infected and affected by the virus in the country.

Background
Engagement of Project Director to Support Nigeria Sustainability and HIV Impact Project (N-SHIP).
We are implementing a CDC supported 5-year project to deliver client-centered high quality comprehensive HIV care and treatment and laboratory services to reach the UNAIDS 95-95-95 targets and end AIDS by 2030.
This project employs a patient-centered approach that integrates contextual health systems strengthening with comprehensive HIV care, including critical services mainstreamed towards those infected and affected by HIV.
Responsibilities
Lead the Program management unit and coordinate the implementation of N-SHIP project activities
Supervises and provides technical guidance for project activities
Assist in the operational and managerial aspects of the NSHIP project
Ensure that appropriate technical strategies, policies and SOPs are developed and implemented in accordance to national regulations.
Facilitate the management, development and monitoring of work plans and budgets; ensures appropriate levels of technical assistance for interventions.
Contribute to resource development efforts that will support achievement of project objectives.
Ensure that results from best practices are incorporated into interventions and strategic planning
Ensure that project interventions are implemented in a timely manner
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
MB.BS or Degree in any medical field
A Master’s Degree in Public Health or related field is required, a doctorate degree will be an advantage
Minimum of ten years; professional public health experience with at least five years of those in HIV/AIDS programme in a developing country setting
Minimum of four years’ managerial level experience.
Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health systems, international donor organizations, NGOs and CBOs is required.
Prior experience work with multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams.
Deliverables:
Report of monthly activities identifying challenges, issues to be addressed and recommendations on way forward
Timely delivery of project activities and reports in line with approved plan
Timely development of strategic plan in line with
Quarterly progress update based on dashboard
Quarterly dissemination of scorecard.
Contracting & Accountability:
The officer will be accountable to the National Coordinator and reporting directly to the National Coordinator.
Renumeration
S/he will be paid competitive fees for the agreed duration based on qualification and experience.
