Enconvest Marketing & Investment company is the sole source packaging and marketing of California Natural Foods Oats brands (oatmeal and oat fufu), a premium 100 % whole American grain.

Job Title: Accountant

Location: Iju Ishaga, Lagos

Job Summary

• The Accountant is responsible for the preparation of the operations account, reporting the company’s Income statement, and ensuring daily input/posting and recording of accounting information to the financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Take charge of operational account management activities within the business unit including but not limited to:
• Reporting all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with the company’s Finance policy and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), regulatory requirements, and internal control/audit requirements.
• Generating accurate reports and analyses from operational financial transactions in line with agreed timelines
• Ensuring regular management of bank cash book
• Generating accurate reports of Debtors Control Account, Income Statement and Debtors Age Analysis, and Debt recovery.
• Developing and managing Costing of Products as market changes.
• Optimize the handling of banking relationships for staffs Salary Accounts.
• Assuming full responsibility for the preparation of Monthly Income Statements and advice based on indices shown by reports.
• Ensuring regular management and monitoring of Staff Welfare accounts.
• Fully implementing and monitoring ongoing compliance with the expected profitability of all company’s Branches.
• Developing and implementing systems to ensure the collection, reporting, and analysis of monthly operations accounting documents from all brands.
• Accounting for Stock movements and conducting monthly stock counts
• Reconciling Ledger stock balances with monthly stock sheets (physical count figures).
• Provide the Operation team with an updated material price monthly
• Prepare and analyze material price increase/decrease as it relates to business decisions
• Model behaviors that encourage whole-of-organization collaboration and learning for the purpose of increasing synergies and maximizing effectiveness.
• Ensures internal customer needs are meant as related to providing sufficient accounting information.
• Ensuring that performance objectives are defined and delivered.
• Coaching and counseling operation staff regarding accounting principles guiding their operation.
• Contact and send bills, invoices, and reminders to clients to ensure timely payments while managing the organization’s obligations to suppliers.
• Reconcile financial statements, while identifying and addressing discrepancies.
• Prepare process invoices and send bank deposits.
• Cross-checking invoices with payments and expenses to ensure accuracy.
• Tracking the organization’s expenses and processing refunds.
• Update internal accounting databases and spreadsheets.
• Managing the company’s accounts payable and receivable.
• Work with collection agencies on overdue payments.

Key Measurement / Result Areas

• Reporting and Analyzing of Income Statement by the 10th of every month
• Updated Costing at every point in all brands of the business
• Updated Stock Valuation sheet on a monthly basis
• Updated daily input/posting and recording of accounting information to the financial systems
• Providing Operations with Annual, quarterly, and monthly budget

Requirements
Qualifications:

• Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 2 years experience.

Functional/Skills:

• Practical and thorough understanding of the principles of Accounting & Financial Management.
• Strong MS Excel Skills.
• Basic Treasury Management skills.
• Strong experience in target setting and forecasting.

General Skills:

• Strong numeracy and analytical skills
• High degree of communication skills, particularly attuned to working well with non-finance professionals
• Good Oral and written Communication skills
• Strong commercial awareness
• Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships
• Ability to acquire sufficient technical knowledge to understand the company’s business and products.
• Basic understanding of operations in the food and retail industry

Remuneration
N50,000 - N75,000 Monthly.
