We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: IT & Surveillance Officer

Location: Kano
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: General Manager

Summary of Position

• The IT & CCTV Surveillance Officer shall be responsible and accountable for the smooth running of our computer systems within the limits of requirements, specifications, costs and timelines, as well as be responsible for the monitoring of all activities within the company premises to prevent intrusion/theft of company properties.
• This position will supervise the implementation and maintenance of our company’s computing and CCTV needs.

Detailed Listing of Responsibilities

• Manage information technology and computer systems
• Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations
• Manage IT staff by recruiting, training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance
• Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures
• Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
• Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy.
• Document the LAN/WAN/WLAN’s architecture, design and layout, protocols, standards, and configuration.
• Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
• Audit systems and assess their outcomes
• Preserve assets, information security and control structures
• Handle annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness
• Ensure proper monitoring of all activities within the company premises to prevent intrusion/theft of company properties.
• Report/escalate all violators daily appropriately as seen in the scene of the incident
• Coordinate with the Chief Security Officer during field observation and report all abnormalities observed
• Ensure proper maintenance of CCTV equipment and troubleshooting of offline/faulty cameras daily.
• Integrity, accuracy and confidentiality of all information gained in CCTV control centre by quality standards and legislation to ensure implementation of various modifications for smooth running.
• Maintain proper shift handing over while running the shift.
• Ensure proper coordination with security officers, vigilante, police and the army, to prevent intrusion and stealing within the company.
• To attend related meeting.
• Maintaining the confidentiality on security matters/ official information.
• To Comply to any other assignment given by my supervisor/ in-charge.
• To proffer ideas to supervisor in improving CCTV surveillance monitoring system.
• Suggest modification for betterment of CCTV devices/ equipment
• Ensure CCTV equipment are always in good working conditions.
• Ensure compliance to ISO (QMS, EMS & OHS ) standards and statutory requirements.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• BSc / HND in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS or similar field
• Minimum of 3 years working experience as an IT & CCTV Surveillance Officer or relevant experience.
• Any IT certification(s) and experience in CCTV operations or maintenance in a Manufacturing Company would be an added advantage.
• Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems.
• Ability to maintain CCTV equipment is also an added advantage.
• Expertise in data centre management and data governance
• Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation
