We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Legal Lead

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Maintain the company's statutory registers and ensure that they are up-to-date
• Ensure that the company obeys legal obligations
• Provide legal advice to the leadership ofthe companyon their legal andcorporate responsibilities, as well as matters of corporate governance
• Develop and review legal policies and procedures, regulations, bylaws, and other legal documents
• Deliver legal services and resources to accomplish corporate goals, strategies and priorities
• Advise the CEO, senior corporate officers and other staff members on a variety of issues from legal point
• Implement and manage an effective legal program
• Prepare and review contractagreements, leasesand other legal documents
• Advise on general business law issues and manage the legal issues of all areas of the company, including but not limited to corporate matters, procurement, safety, security, insurance and sustainability issues.
• Ensure legal compliance across all jurisdictions
• Carry out the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) duties when required
• Perform other work-related duties as may be assigned to you from time to time

Requirements and Skills

• Certified Lawyer with at least 4 years of post-qualification legal experience
• Experience advising senior business leaders,executive leadership teams and senior corporate officers
• Experience in preparing and reviewingcontracts, leases and other legal documentsin a payment processing or financial services or fintech environment.
• Knowledge of the regulatory environment as it concernspayment processing or financial services or fintech
• Excellent communication,planning, organizational, and management skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Performance of duties with a high level of discretion, professionalism, and integrity.
