We currently provide students between the grades of 1 and 12 with access to high-quality, curriculum-relevant, animated video lessons. Job Title: Warehouse Officer

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Job Description

• We are looking for an experienced warehouse officer to join our growing team.
• You will be responsible for the receipt, storage, distribution, inventory management, and records maintenance of uLesson merchandise in the warehouse.
• The Warehouse Officer will be responsible for planning and implementing warehouse processes, operations and technology.
• In collaboration with the Line Manager, you will develop plans to monitor storage utilization levels, manage warehouse facilities, and review operational quality and efficiency of warehouse storage and layout plans.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Warehouse Security: Ensure that the warehouse and company merchandise is properly secured, the security apparatus is functional and access to the warehouse is controlled.
• Ensure all merchandise is properly handled.
• Plan and execute effective incident management initiatives.
• Safety: Undertake and analyse risk assessment reports to determine hazards and report all warehouse incidents.
• First Aid: Ensure the first aid kit is stocked and available for use.
• Deliveries: Oversee cargo delivery schedules and consolidate them to optimize warehouse space, costs, and efficiency. Ensure uLesson merchandise is received and stored properly according to standards and best practices. Coordinate resolution of facilities, equipment, infrastructure, and system breakdown to minimize downtime.
• Storage Conditions: Ensure and maintain a clean and hazard-free environment (interior and exterior).
• Inventory and Record Management: Maintain accurate warehouse records; quantities received, stored, and dispatched must align with records, stock records are completed and updated, and accurate records of item deliveries and issues reported.
• Collate, review and analyse information for end-to-end warehouse processes from order initiation to receiving, handling, distribution, and storage.
• Plan measures for calculating operational efficiency, utilization, and productivity.
• Maintain accurate records of warehouse register, warehouse inspection reports, spot checks reports, discrepancy reports, disposal documentation/reports, delivery reports, waybills, releases, stock cards, etc.
• Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely (weekly/monthly) reports, utilize inventory
• management tools.
• Assist the Line Manager to undertake end-of-year stock counts and prepare the corresponding reports.
• Data Management: Evaluate technology solutions and automation to improve processes.
• Training and Compliance: ensure knowledge and compliance with warehouse policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) and train staff on warehouse systems.
• Discrepancy Control: Ensure items are accurately counted and correct entries are made, check documents for errors, store all items in the warehouse, and address and report all cases of discrepancies.
• Other assignments: Complete additional and ad-hoc assignments as and when required.

Requirements

• Degree level Education in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, and/or other related courses.
• 3 years prior experience in a similar role (e-commerce background would be an advantage).
• Excellent understanding of warehouse management procedures.
• Proficient knowledge of inventory management and inventory controls.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Good reporting skills with the ability to analyze information.
• Available to work extended hours.
