Key Responsibilities

• Complete assigned duties in regard to planning and optimization of existing IP/MPLS network setup.
• Monitor, tune, dimensioning and forecasting expansions of IP/MPLS network or its components including international/national peering platforms and caching/filtering/load balancing platforms) based on traffic growth trends.
• Troubleshoot IP / MPLS network related issues and deploying corrective measures.
• Create and keep up to date technical documentation and diagrams for IP/MPLS network setup
• Initiate and manage projects in terms of planning, deployment and optimization of new IP based services, 
• Troubleshoot core IP network related issues and deploying corrective measures.
• Deploy network control solutions, planning hardware and software upgrades, cooperation with vendor engineers in identifying and resolving complex hardware and software problems, and performing migrations of equipment and interfaces.
• Plan system monitoring mechanisms that rapidly detect and block any security intrusion and service assaults 
• Deploy and operate all peering connectivity with CDN providers.
• High level support to clients services and also to upstream tier 1/3 peering networks.

Qualification, Experience and Skills

• University Degree in Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunication or Computer Science from a reputed Engineering Institute
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a telecommunications environment
• Network certification such as CCNA CCNP and CCIE
• Knowledge of OSI model with emphasis on Layers 2 and 3.
• Thorough knowledge of service provider IP architectures 
• Good knowledge of networking technologies - TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, VPNs, Firewalls, proxy etc.
• Working knowledge of network capture and analysis tools, with the ability to analyze protocol and application behaviors
• Working knowledge of highly available ISP network technologies.
• Advanced knowledge of IP address management including process to obtain addresses and provide reporting to AFRINIC
• Advanced knowledge of Visio. Able to create complex network diagrams and other.
