Responsibilities
The Senior Business Development Manager role is a great opportunity to demonstrate your relationship management and sales skills.
Your focus will be driving our brand narrative across multiple channels, generating newsworthy content for media outlets and interesting content for our influencers to interact with.
Lead the company client acquisition and account management by developing trusted advisor relationships with key accounts, customer stakeholders and decision-makers
Driving brand stories, events and content that gets into consumers conversation; full accountability for and responsible for holding brands to account that their stories are newsworthy, interesting to influencers and drive consumer engagement, shareability & talkability
create winning strategies and PR worthy ideas, inspire cross-functional teams to deliver breakthrough content and inspire a culture where brilliant execution is a convention.
Working with brand teams to identify a genuine authentic truth within the brand idea that will carry across media and consumer conversations, genuinely rooted in consumer connections and cultural tensions
Build direct and ongoing influencer relationships which enable our brands to land better in culture, gain credibility and achieve incremental reach through advocacy, ensuring a solid presence in the field of arts, music, sports etc. for our representation in modern culture and trends.
Ensure our brands are visible, and our stories are amplified internally in Diageo and externally to stakeholders.
Manage inbound and outbound pipeline by clearly communicating the value of brands and the company’s capabilities to prospects
Work with internal stakeholders to smoothly onboard new clients
Managing the account/s professionally, build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships, forecast and track key account metrics.
Manage contract negotiations aimed at establishing the foundation of a strong working relationship with our shipper partners, including sustainable economics for both parties
Own additional personalized reporting for managed accounts ongoing and completed campaigns
Deliver confidence in being able to build brilliant partnerships with internal teams to leverage learnings and thought leadership including Reserve PR team, Media, Planning etc
Key Performance Indicators
The total value of campaigns closed and/or managed as per the communicated target
Client acquisition, retention and recurrence
Requirements
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree
At least 5 years of experience in sales, account management, or similar functions
At least 2 years’ experience in a fast-paced tech or start-up environment
Ability to clearly frame a value proposition and ask the right questions to be able to overcome objections to gain commitment from your clients
The ability to use a CRM system and work with a weighted approach to pipeline management
A positive, self-starter attitude and determined drive to win
Ability to stay organized, and pay attention to detail, with strong time management and analytical skills
Discipline and Focus - self-motivation, dedication, and determination to reach out and foster new engagements and relationships
Strong Writing Skills - write effective and eye-catching emails to prospective customers
Coachability - willingness to learn, practice, and improve critical skills
