Description

• The Governing Council of Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Kano hereby announces that the position of the Registrar of the University is vacant.
• In accordance with the provisions of the Yusuf Maitama Stile University Law 2012 (as amended) and in executing its powers contained therein, the Council wishes to commence the process of filling the vacancy.

The Duties

• The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer of the University and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day- to- day administration of the University. In accordance with section 11 (2) of tile Yusuf Maitama Stile University Law 2012 (as amended) the Registrar shall by virtues of that office, be Secretary to Council, Senate, Congregation and Convocation. The Registrar shall hold office for a single term of five (5) years only.
• Candidates for the post shall be visionary and shall have the ability to provide good leadership.
• They shall be of proven personal integrity and transparency in private and public life; should command respect as well as attract cooperation and loyalty of staff and students.

Qualification and Experience
Candidates shall process the following qualifications and qualities:

• Possession of a Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of good Second Class (Lower) Honours in relevant discipline. Possession of higher Degree(s) will be an added advantage.
• Membership of recognized professional bodies.
• ICT compliant with working knowledge of relevant packages.
• Minimum of 15 years cognate working experience, some of which must be from a University and the applicant must have attained senior management position, not below the rank of a Deputy Registrar.
• Shall not be above the age of 60 years at the point of assumption of duty.

Salary and the Conditions of Service

• The remuneration and other conditions of service are as applicable to the post of Registrar in Nigerian public Universities, and as may be determine from time to time by the Governing Council.
