Albarka Health Spring Foundation (AHSF)is a non-governmental organization dully registered with Nigerian government through Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC/IT NO: 91613). Existing since October 2016, AHSF focuses on improving the quality of life of vulnerable population across communities in North East Nigeria. AHSF operates both in emergency and developmental context and have its program principally rooted in identifying gaps that affects population or increases vulnerability of population and bridging those gaps through resource base planning and implementation.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Community Health Volunteer (CHV)
Locations: Rann, Jere & Mungono - Borno
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Expected Resumption Date: As soon as possible
Number of Openings: 10 (Across the three Location)
The Main Duties
Make visit homes, initiate dialogue with household members, determine the health situation, deliver key health messages, and undertake necessary actions;
Guide the community on health improvement and disease prevention;
Register households at frequencies stipulated in current guidelines
Collect data and relay information to stakeholders to inform programs and policies
Provide informal counseling, and referrals.
Create connections between vulnerable populations and healthcare providers
Help patients navigate healthcare and social service systems
Promote disease prevention and environmental sanitation
Community outreach by Participating and giving health education, promote breast feeding, and child spacing
Facilitate behavioral change among community members
Awareness raising by informing and educating about sexual and reproductive health to all population (PLWD, Men, Women, young boys and girls)
Provide effective emotional and social support.
Experience and Qualifications
SSCE Completed
Certification of work experience with other actors NGO & INGO
Demonstrate skill in field engagement.
Understanding cultural context.
Fluent in Kanuri, Hausa & English.
Most be a resident of the community.
