We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Internal Auditor

Job Summary

• Under the supervision of the Functional & Business Heads, the internal auditor manages the corporate audit and assurance department.
• He/She would also provide value-adding, cost effective, independent and objective assurance to Management of the subsidiaries in the Group and the Audit Committees. 

Responsibilities

• Develop audit plans, based upon an audit needs assessment of the company`s activities, and carry out the agreed work in line with appropriate professional standards.
• In consultation with the Group Internal auditor, assess and communicate the assurance status to the business area as the audit assignment progresses and ensures that the functional head is fully kept aware of the progress/issues.
•  Ensuring that all instances of significant business risks, serious control weaknesses, fraud or major control breakdown identified in the course of audit assignments are reported to the group Internal auditor.
•  Provide assurances, opinions and make recommendations to improve processes and systems where appropriate.
• Follow up recommendations made to operational units and departmental heads to evaluate actions taken. Ensure commitment to report and action plan. Resolve issues without compromising independence of role
• Ensure that established procedures are being properly followed, that financial transactions are consistent with established policies and practices, that, company assets are safeguarded and business operations are efficient.

Requirements

• Professional qualification in Accounting with a recognized body e.g.ICAN, ACCA, CPA
• Relevant experience in Auditing
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of general administrative practices and office procedures / protocols
• Focused and structured in approach, effectively managing multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
• Takes ownership to deliver deadlines.
•  Good organisational skills and computer literate
• Creative, confident and professional person with high levels of drive
