To provide comprehensive advanced process control optimization and automation support for the entire NLNG plant through design, implementation and fine tuning of the Advanced Process Controller (APC) to ensure improved plant reliability and availability in support of a sustainable safe, reliable, high capacity and efficient operation.
Supervise a team providing advanced process control support for the entire NLNG plant.
Main Accountabilities
Check and control quality of the following critical process safety documentation: Advance Process Control Narratives, Advanced Process Control Descriptions, Advanced Process Control Engineering Design
Provide and control advanced process control support to reduce environmental impact of NLNG operation by optimizing APC/SMOC performance and uptime, minimizing flaring and optimize fuel consumption, minimizing operator intervention, achieving energy optimization, maximizing production capacity and minimizing trip frequency in order to optimize NLNG cost benefits and reduce waste.
Coordinate the designing and development of new as well as rejuvenation of existing advanced process control applications to ensure no disruption to operations and facilitate optimal availability of advanced process control applications in order to continuously deliver cost benefits.
Coordinate the troubleshooting and problem-solving activities associated with advanced process control applications in the DCS, UAPC, associated software such as OPC, PCTP, Matrik on etc to ensure high availability of all systems and minimization of downtime
Facilitate process control technological integrity by implementing the minimum required design and engineering standards as applied by TA and best practices from the industry in new applications and reviewing existing applications for SEC and plant changes to ensure all safety critical equipment are adequately protected to minimize un necessary trips and or equipment outages.
Responsible for the integrity of advanced process controller configurations in the DCS, UAPC and equipment protection in the safeguarding systems to ensure high availability of these applications and minimize unnecessary trip of the plant.
Coordinate and provide process control advice for the APC/SMOC applications; Coordinate and ensure quality control of all process control advice deliverables for all APC/SMOC applications; and Control and check documented advice to operations, including expected and realized economic impact and benefits, to ensure seamless service delivery to operations and minimization of slowdowns or trips due to advanced process control applications.
Responsible for training all necessary operations staff on new or rejuvenated APC/SMOC applications to ensure good understanding of the applications and that advertised benefits can be delivered continuously.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Physics or Process Control at Second Class Lower Division (2.2) and above.
Minimum of 8 years post-graduation work experience in the field of process control in the Oil and Gas industry, with 5 years in a Senior Process Control role. Experience with modern DCS systems, model predictive control, multi-variable and non-linear control, simulations, process dynamic modelling and APC.
