Job Title: HSE Advisor

Task
To support the operationalization of an effective level 1 HSE Management System &risk controls and provide HSE support/advise to NLNG’s Shipping business in the implementation of Integrated Safe Systems of Work (ISSoW) at the coal face level to ensure safe operation and no harm to people.
Main Accountabilities
Ensure the implementation of Integrated Safe System of Work (JHA, TBT, LOTO, CSE, Unsafe Acts Auditing HSEW, PSFO, etc) in Shipping business to entrench best practice HSE culture, save lives and prevent major accidents the Shipping operations.
Support the operationalization of an OHSAS 18001 and HSSE Control Framework compliant level-1 HSE Management System (HSE-MS) and HSE Case in Shipping operations to ensure that a consistent and standardized approach is applied across the Shipping business in achieving personal safety and environmental objectives.
Facilitate the implementation of HSE tools and techniques at the Shipping activity frontline and consistently manage Personal Safety Risks to As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP), preventing harm to personnel.
Support the Shipping Business in Safety and Technical Reviews such as HAZOP, SAFOP, FIREPRAN, FSR, to robustness of HSE risk management at the frontline, thus helping to prevent harm to people, damage to assets or environment.
Provide necessary data for HSE Performance Monitoring and Reporting for NLNG’s Shipping business to provide Shipping Management insight into prevailing HSE issues, enabling them prioritize and direct focused improvement actions.
Support Shipping business in providing required HSE oversight during the execution phase of all activities in the shipping operations, and also contracts in line with applicable Contractor HSE Management Standards, ensuring full understanding of contracts execution HSE requirements at the frontline as may be required to deliver Shipping Business’ contracted activities safely and without harm to people, damage to the assets or environment.
Provide facilitation support to NLNG Shipping operations significant HSE incident owners, ensuring incidents are reported and investigated in line with approved procedure, learnings approved, actioned and disseminated appropriately to prevent re-occurrence or similar situations from leading to personnel injury, damage to assets and environment in the future.
Facilitate Hazards identification awareness campaigns and strategy to ensure the entrenchment of acceptable HSE culture among the Shipping Business back office and coalface personnel.
Requirements
A Bachelor's Degree preferably in Engineering, Sciences or Physical Sciences; OR Minimum of Class 2 (Deck Officer) certificate of competency.
Minimum of 3 years post graduate work experience, out of which a minimum of 2 years should have been spent in a similar position in a reputable organization preferably in the Oil & Gas industry; OR Minimum of 3 years’ experience serving as Chief Officer onboard Oil and/or Gas Tanker.
