Job Title: Chief Financial Officer

Job Summary
The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for leading and managing the Finance and Accounting department
This includes ensuring that the department is effectively managed and that the specific departmental strategies and operational objectives are properly and successfully executed.
Responsibilities
Assist in formulating the company strategy and supporting tactical objectives.
Monitor and ensure the implementation of strategic business plans related to areas of responsibility.
Develop financial and tax strategies to support the business objectives
Develop and propose to the BoD strategies for converting USD debt to shareholders to Naira debt to banks and other commercial financial institutions in Nigeria
Manage the capital request and budgeting processes
Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction
Ensure financial processes are efficient and implemented effectively
Preparation of required financial reports as required.
Oversee and review financial information contained in management meeting packs and sent to the Board Members and Management of the company and others as directed by the CEO on monthly basis or as requested.
Review and interrogate monthly results, budgets, forecasting and the P&L Statements
Review financial reports of key projects.
Attendance at weekly and monthly management meetings of Company with a specific focus on the financial aspects to be reported. To this end, anomalies, exceptions and trends are to be communicated to the CEO and action plans developed and implemented.
Monitor financial targets set for the Company in terms of profitability, working capital, capital allocation, cash flow, etc.
Provide proposals to strategically improve financial performance and local IT Systems.
Management of annual audit process, forex and Taxation in conjunction with the Group Financial Controller.
Management of annual budgeting and forecasting process with Managing Director
Accept full responsibility for company budgeting process and present company income and expense budgets for approval to the company board.
Direct and manage the achievement of budget and report on progress to company board.
Ensure that income and expenses are within agreed tolerance limits of budget and take corrective action if and when deviations from approved budgets become evident.
Report monthly on company’s financial performance against budget.
Continuously control assets and reduce cost by implementing cost cutting initiatives.
Maintain a robust internal finance control environment through the implementation of proper financial controls, policies and procedures.
Support the Managing Director in all Finance related matters.
Enforce adherence to legal guidelines and the Company policies to maintain the Company’s lawfulness and business ethics.
Manage reporting structures with complete adherence to the organization`s Reserved Matters.
Requirements
CA qualification
At least 10 years of progressive experience in a senior (Executive) management role with demonstrated leadership skills.
Strong understanding of corporate finance on a strategic and operational management level, with specific experience in Project Accounting, Management Accounting, Divisional Accounting, Financial modelling, Annuity Billing and P&L Statements.
Strong leadership and Team Management skills (including Coaching and developing others)
Business and Financial Acumen (good understanding of financial management)
Up to date accounting, Forex and taxation (local and foreign) knowledge - must have been involved in IFRS AFS preparation.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and general comfort with IT platforms and use of databases.
Good Understanding of the BBBEE codes of good practice.
Experience in senior debt finance raising
Financial negotiation and risk management skills
Strong Decision-Making capabilities

Strategic Focus and Orientation
Ability to travel both locally and internationally.
