Job Summary

• The Production Technician must have a good knowledge of Operational and Technical Practices in an E&P Company.
• He is expected to have an in depth knowledge of offshore/swamp production engineering and operations, Well test and performance analysis, optimization of field production, development planning, technical and economic evaluation as well as production forecasting.
• The candidate must be able to work in a team environment and effectively communicate within and outside the company.
• Must have worked at supervisory level in a similar position for at least eight (8) years in a reputable E&P Company.

Job Description

• Carry out choke checks, well tests chemical optimization, production rate checks.
• Monitor production and utility system parameters to ensure Company facility is operated within a safe working envelope, ensuring emissions, energy efficiency, and production targets are met.
• Conduct Critical Device Function Testing & monitoring of chemical performance.
• Inspecting machinery and reporting any faults to management and line Manager.
• Identifying faults and troubleshooting for prompt resolution.
• Ensure start up, control, monitor, and shut down sub- systems are safely carried out and in line with Standard Operating Procedures while achieving production target.
• Maintain a pro-active approach towards HSE by identifying facility hazards, ensuring environmental compliance & incident reporting, including participation in safety & toolbox meetings.
• Ensuring the required materials are timely available for production, and that operation is safe.
• Champion the enforcement of standards and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
• Assist and support HSES teams in ensuring compliance to Safety and Security Policies and procedures at Company's locations.

Qualifications and Required Competencies

• Minimum of Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in a core engineering discipline (Petroleum, Production, Electrical or Instrumentation) with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division.
• A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in the oil industry with a proven track record of production and operations management.
• Knowledge of Oil/Gas utility & production processing systems.
• Strong leadership skills in field operations and safety management.
• Understanding artificial lift technique. (Submersible Pumps).
• Ability to work in and foster a team environment.
• Must have word in the Oil/Gas industry together with offshore or remote location experience in a multi-skilled environment or experience.
