Isidore is a digital platform for Agri-SMEs (e.g. suppliers of grains) & Agro Buyers (e.g. Feed mills, FMCGS) that enables purchase order management and facilitates access to working capital, for all in the value chain. Through our Jinja platform, we provide a free mobile-first ERP tool focused on purchase order fulfilment with embedded access to capital. We also extend payables on behalf of Agro Buyers thereby reducing their need for corporate financing.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Business Development Associate

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Description

  • We are looking for an energetic business development associate to help drive our sales and grow the business. You will attract new clients and build solid relationships with them while maintaining existing relationships. Other duties will include market research, developing business strategies and pitches, managing a variety of projects, and identifying and executing new business opportunities. You will work with various departments and report to the Program Manager
  • We are building a pipeline for higher quality food production, processing, and delivery in Africa using technology, access to capital and provision of extension services. Our platform relies on partners to succeed so you will be the champion for the brand, attracting and securing the right partnerships for this to scale.
  • The successful applicant will be resourceful, organised and motivated to increase sales, enhance the company's reputation, and look for new and creative ways to market our products. A background in sales or marketing is strongly desirable.

Job Responsibilities

  • Grow the pipeline of SMEs for Jinja
  • Willing to familiarize yourself with the company's vision and mission, seeking to accomplish set goals and objectives.
  • Conducting market research and identifying potential clients and partnerships.
  • Collating and maintaining client information in the CRM database or any other chosen method of data management.
  • Working closely with staff across departments to implement growth strategies.
  • Developing and implementing sales strategies, client service and retention plans, and analyzing sales data to inform or update marketing strategies.
  • Assist with drafting business plans, pitch decks, presentations, reference material, webinars and other documents as required.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with various levels of management, staff, and clients.
  • Build relationships with key public stakeholders in the wider Agric value chain in Nigeria
  • Cultivating strong relationships with new buyers/processors/FMCGs in the grains value chain to identify and nurture mutually beneficial relationships with Jinja, while maintaining existing client relationships
  • Work closely with the Operations and Customer Success teams to ensure value delivery for customers
  • Be the voice of our customers in discussions with internal stakeholders

Requirements
Required skills/experience

  • Experience in B2B sales and partnerships, preferably in Agric or Agtech
  • Interest in technology with the ability to understand and communicate core concepts and their benefits
  • Ability to develop high-quality client relationships and sales materials
  • Ability to research and organise information so that it is useful for other team members
  • Negotiating commercial terms and closing deals

Might have experience in:

  • Product/project management
  • Management consulting or other professional services
  • Managing budgets and developing commercial models
  • Law / experience developing contracts with a legal team
