Job Description
The Director of Security will proactively manage and lead the 24/7 security operations and is responsible for ensuring all applicable laws, regulations and statutes are complied with.
All duties are to be performed with the highest level of honesty and integrity in accordance with company policies and procedures and include the below
What you will be Doing
Conduct Security Risk Assessments and advise/implement corrective measures where required.
Ensure optimum operational efficiency of all Safety and Security systems and equipment and train security staff in appropriate SOP’s, Safehotels, customer service and Leading Hotels of the World standards.
Project-manage the implementation of the Safehotels system and maintain/improve once certification is achieved.
To train all colleagues and officers on all aspects of security and safety with full responsibility for Emergency Response Plans and CRISIS ALERT System.
Managing and conducting thorough investigations of all incidents and accidents and compiling relevant reports needed for Regional and Executive Management, Law Enforcement etc.
Implement, develop and continue all training on Fire/ Evacuation Response Plan including practical firefighting
Implement, develop and continue all training on outside threat response plans
Know thoroughly all response plans, crisis management plans and immediate actions
Maintain all Standard Operating and Local Standard Operating Procedures as related to the Security department
Train, further educate and orient all Security Officers and Leaders under your direct responsibility
Impart company policies and procedures and “Code of Ethics” on all Security Officers and Leaders
Participate in all Health and Safety meetings and be a permanent member of the health and safety team
Contribute to improvement and development of the Security Department with written recommendations submitted to the Cluster Director of Security for Sub-Saharan Africa
Liaise with local authorities, stakeholders and government authorities and be familiar with all regulations
Manage all in-house, MOPOL and outsourced security staff and shifts professionally and responsibly
Be subject to a 3-month review after signing this document, of all the above to ensure expectations are at an exceeding or mastering level
Your Experience and Skills
Advance Diploma in Security Operations and Management
Nigeria Professional Security Association
American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS)
The Security Department operates 24/7 and will need to respond dynamically to the security needs of the property. The post holder will be required to work outside of ‘normal office hours’ (including weekends, bank holidays, early late or night shift) should it be operationally required. A flexible and team focused approach is required.
