OppApp is a new early-stage Educational technology (EdTech) and Service Provider startup based on an ambitious & exciting, yet realistic product vision. Africa is the world's youngest continent and expanding the fastest. The number of young people working in Africa will rise to 375 million by 2030. The International Monetary Fund estimates that by 2035, there will be more young Africans joining the workforce each year than there are in the rest of the world put together due to population growth on the continent. The number of young individuals looking for work is much higher than the number of opportunities that are open to them. The skills of young people entering the workforce and the needs of companies are also out of sync.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Go-To-Market Manager (Sweat Equity)

Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos (Fully Remote)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • The individuals who will be hired at this position will be given a significant amount of equity given that the company is at ideation stage.
  • The company is in its pre-seed with interest from few VCs once an MVP is made and possible grants from NEAR protocol.
  • We are at a critical stage in our growth and have an urgent need for a Go To Market Manager. Ideally, we want someone with previous startup experience who has experience in all phases of the Product process and is an expert.
  • We are looking for a highly energetic and collaborative Go To Market Manager who can Lead /work individually with the development, QA, product owners’ team and adhere to standardized BA policies, processes, and documentation standards, overseeing and/or participating in all aspects of the Project Life Cycle.
  • The Go To Market Manager will be responsible for participating in all phases of the project life cycle.
  • As a Go-To-Market Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to innovate and deliver valuable strategies to grow and develop how we take our product portfolio to market.
  • We’re looking for a creative influencer who can understand our wide array of offerings and eloquently differentiate our competitive advantages.
  • In this role, you’ll be part of our innovative and rapidly growing Next-Generation Technology Solutions Business. We provide the tools, resources, and team members to simplify the delivery of Cloud, Blockchain, Data & IoT solutions and create a seamless end-to-end process for our customers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with domain experts and IT leadership team is key to be successful in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Own the launch process of products and features from end-to-end.
  • Establish launch timelines and go-to-market strategies.
  • Collaborate with and manage internal and external stakeholders across sales, product, marketing, and growth.
  • Execute various inbound and outbound marketing strategies and growth hacks.
  • Create and track relevant metrics to determine the return on investment of various growth and marketing channels.
  • Collaborate with executives to make decisions regarding the budget, branding, and direction of the company.

What We’re Looking For

  • College Degree required (preferably Business or Marketing)
  • 5 years of experience in Sales, Product Management, and/or Project Management
  • Excellent knowledge of products in assigned portfolio
  • Excellent knowledge of IT industry. Understanding of market trends and demands
  • Ability to use standard software: MS Office Applications
  • Demonstrated experience leading market launches
  • Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Strong business development skills.

Qualifications:

  • We're looking for an individual contributor who has owned the go-to-market process at a B2B SaaS or Product Lead Company.

Below are other skills that we look for:

  • Experience with product-led growth, ideally at a growth-stage startup.
  • Experience managing a large budget.
  • The ability to wear multiple hats, take initiative, and get things done.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, especially for LinkedIn, Twitter, Medium, and Substack.
  • Knowledge of CRMs like HubSpot, as well as SEO tools and content analytics.
  • An interest in quant trading, market data, and/or the financial industry.
  • A desire to work at a fast-growing fintech startup.
  • Develop Strategies for market-driving initiatives, utilize Storytelling to develop Value Propositions, and Deliver your Go-To-Market strategies in collaboration with vendor marketing and sales teams.
  • Serve as a leader, expert, and ambassador for our Blockchain, Cloud portfolio strategy
  • Analyze market data to identify trends/opportunities,
  • Develops strategic direction from market information, and creates compelling market analysis presentations
  • Able to quickly pivot against a current strategy if proven ineffective based on ROI and results.

Storytelling:

  • For the Blockchain and Cloud portfolio area, this function is responsible for ‘What we say’, ‘Who we say it to’, and ‘How we say it’
  • Holistic Portfolio Messaging (not vendor-centric), Value Prop, Program Development and Launch
  • Incorporates and drives Partner Enablement into the value proposition (Practice Builders)
  • Incorporate Services plays and capabilities into the value proposition and offer models.

Go-To-Market Delivery:

  • Collaborate with marketing and program management team to develop programs for demand creation and sales development, and ensure strategy is in line with vendor priorities
  • Obtain vendor funding for marketing events and programs
  • Identify in-demand products within assigned product line and develop effective marketing to build awareness and sales volume
  • Cross market complementary solutions into appropriate vertical segments.
