M.D Special Nursery & Primary School started at the present Agidingbi location on the 24th September, 1986 with a vision to mainstream the special needs children with the regular children. Due to the very distinct excellent standard of education being provided right from inception, the Lagos State Government gave official approval to the School in February 1987.The Special unit of the School had to move to its present location in April 1988. The School started on another location at New Oko-oba, on the 26th September, 2004 and this is purpose built and the permanent site of the School.

Responsibilities

• The Science Teacher’s responsibilities include developing interesting lesson plans and curricula, collaborating with other teachers, completing student assessments, and addressing any performance issues.
• To be successful as a science teacher, you should be a curious, lifelong learner with a passion for discovering new things.
• Outstanding candidates have a deep respect for the natural world and the ability to inspire this same respect in their students.
• Designing, developing, and delivering quality lesson plans and curricula that adhere to Global best practice.
• Drawing up suitable assessments and delivering helpful feedback to pupils, parents, and other teachers.
• Establishing classroom, lab, and field trip rules and regulations and ensuring that all pupils understand what is expected of them.
• Setting up demonstrations, assisting and supervising pupils while they conduct experiments.
• Providing extra resources, support, and interventions for pupils who are struggling.
• Grading papers, updating records, and handling various administrative tasks.
• Creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and voicing concerns.
• STEM Education coordination.
• Participating in other school activities.

Requirements

• Degree in Science or a related discipline.
• A relevant teaching qualification or certification..
• Ability to use technology as a tool for teaching is an added advantage
• Dedication, patience, and the ability to remain calm in tense situations.
• The ability to answer sensitive questions and create an environment where everyone’s opinions are respected.
• A passion for science and a commitment to continuing education.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Good spoken english
• Proximity to our locations.
