Job Title: Solutions Architect

Location: Lagos

About the Role

• We are looking for a Solutions Architect to join one of our most important clients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for: Design, maintaining, and/or enhancing the Application, Portfolio management methodologies, standards, and tooling for the Zone platform team that guarantees best practices.
• Research, analyze, propose, design and deliver fit-for-purpose solution architectures across business functions/processes and technical domains.
• Identify innovation opportunities and developments drawing on inputs from the business, across Solutions, external thought leaders, and vendors.
• Lead the effort to analyze integrated systems and recommend appropriate hardware, software, and communication links required to support solutions goals and strategy.
• Responsible for the quality of, and adherence to, the overall solution design of several related products delivered by suppliers.
• Guard the health of the products’ common platforms – ensuring reuse and redesign where needed, proper capacity sizing, and respecting limits of cloud platforms.
• The role will report to the Lead Solution Architect and work together with several product squads and Enterprise Architects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the contact point for all technology-shaping requests in a business domain.
• Provide education to team members on solution architecture directions and goals.
• Evaluate and communicate the impacts of architectural decisions (technology selection, design).
• Lead all supplier architectural efforts, utilizing cross-functional knowledge (strategy, change management, and business process management) for project implementation.
• Lead effort to identify and analyze business drivers to derive business, information, application,
• infrastructure, and security architecture requirements.
• Develop an architecture approach for all applicable layers of a solution.
• Lead effort to work with business users, enterprise architects, software architects and application developers to develop the overall solution architecture.
• Assist in developing architectural best practices and standards, including template definitions.
• Provide leadership and technical guidance to software/solution architects at suppliers.
• Promote & leverage the use of solution architecture standards, policies, and procedures across development in projects and programs as an active participant of the ABI internal architecture community (chapter).
• Review the deliverables throughout the development cycle to ensure quality, traceability to requirements, and adherence to all quality management plans and standards.
• Lead effort to review and provide input on proposals from an architectural perspective, including feasibility, practicality, technical viability, and consistency.
• Assess and recommend infrastructure and technical solutions for upgrades to meet business needs.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Software Engineering or similar degree / through experience.
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Demonstrable experience in designing custom, complex enterprise solutions across various architecture domains.
• Deep knowledge of solution architecture discipline, processes, concepts, and best practices.
• Advanced understanding of IT industry trends, enterprise standards, and methodology.
• Experience in structuring and facilitating the process of innovation within an IT function
• Understanding of an IT product development lifecycle / IT project delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall)
• Datacenter architecture principles, basic knowledge, and experience with MS Azure or AWS are a plus.
• Knowledge and experience in ABAP and/or Java programming languages, C# is a plus.
• Experience building web applications, knowledge, and experience with HTML5 and/or JavaScript is a plus.
• Experience working with development toolsets and frameworks (e.g. .NET) is a plus.
• Experience working with SAP products (ERP 6.0, SAP S/4HANA), SFDC platform, and integration technologies (MuleSoft, SAP PO) is a plus.
