Overview
Within the framework of the plant’s objectives assigned by the Maintenance manager, the job assignment is to optimize the maintenance activities in the Plant.
This includes managing all maintenance operations in order to increase the reliability factor, the efficiency and effectiveness of the mechanical maintenance team and decreasing the cost per tonne of maintenance.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the execution of maintenance work carried out on mechanical equipment
Develops working methods in his field: defines procedures and ensures that they are implemented
Ensures proper planning of work, resources and execution of tasks
Contributes to/participates in the short/long term investment plans
Manages his team: defines the missions and objectives of his workforce and carries out their performance reviews, promotes the quality of the work and motivates his personnel
Ensures the permanent update of the personnel skills, develops and implements a training plan, develops an individual coaching
Follows policies (PIP & best practice) in his day-to-day work
Defines the budget of his department and negotiates with the boss
Facilitates communications and relationships:
Conducts department meetings regularly,
Conveys management policies to the subordinates,
Communicates results to the top management,
Keeps himself informed of general plant practices so as to ensure “on-call” duty
Ensures working conditions and safety at work.
Ensure involvement in the implementation and maintenance of integrated management system in the plant.
Ensure the quality and practical application of mechanical operations
Ensures that maintenance works are carried out satisfactorily and within the set timeframe
Ensures that adequate action is taken when mechanical incidents occur
Guarantees the safety of the equipment and of the people working for him
Optimizes maintenance costs and manages his budget
Promotes the quality of the work and motivates his personnel
Develops their skills by internal and external training to keep abreast of technical developments
Ensure coordination and cooperation between his and other departments
Support implementation of ISO 14001:2015 EMS and ISO 9001:2015 QMS
Ensure proper management of tools provided by the company to efficiently carry out maintenance tasks
The work environment of the job is the Cement Plant and the Quarry
Education/Qualifications
First Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years’ experience preferably in the cement industry
Knowledge & Skills
Technical competencies:
Good knowledge of cement manufacturing processes and products
Strong problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills
In-depth knowledge of practical mechanical operations and application
Knowledge of safety laws and regulations
Knowledge of engineering codes and standards
Good knowledge of safety rules applied to maintenance
Experience in the development of quality management systems, for example ISO 9001:2000 and TPM
Predictive and preventive maintenance
Hands-on experience
Micro data processing (MSWord, Excel, Power Point, project, AutoCAD and Visio)
