Job Title: Expression of Interest for Individual Consultant: Senior UI / UX Designer - TCIS
Location: Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire
Job Description
The selected Consultant will be responsible for the design of UI/UX experience for clients and transition those designs to production code that will enable best-in-class visual and interactive elements for enterprise-scale applications and mobile apps.
The UI / UX Designer will work in a collaborative environment alongside clients and software development teams to design and implement compelling, intuitive and innovative user-centered experiences.
Responsibilities
The consultants’ responsibilities will include mainly the following:
Represent the product vision by researching, envisaging, sketching, prototyping and user-testing experiences for custom applications (web, mobile, etc)
Identify design inconsistencies or challenges and devise user-centered solutions while effectively balancing business needs, technical constraints, and project schedules
Work with subject matter experts and product owners and iterate in rapid cycles through UX options
Stay current on web and mobile technology trends and innovations and share information with the team
Participate in, and in some cases drive design solution sessions
Standardize the UX across IT applications and provide templates for development team to use
Build and enhance web and mobile applications navigation and graphics
Create wireframes, storyboards, mockups, process flows and/or prototypes to illustrate application functionality (web, non-web, mobile).
Select appropriate tools, templates and standards to create advanced, well designed and engineered web pages and systems with specified content and layout.
Design the experience, content and appearance of advanced web pages and systems (including mobile apps) based on briefs from clients/users.
Design the overall information structure and graphical style for substantial web sites and systems, taking into account the target audience(s) and the objectives of the client/user organization.
Utilize graphic pre-designs where appropriate.
Define the graphic guidelines and visual identity of websites, mobile apps, etc
Design and create images, graphics, illustrations and animations
Ensure the visual and ergonomic standardization
Presentation of mock-up to clients for feedback and/or approval
Profile of the Consultant
Engineering Degree in Computer Science, Software Development or IT related fields and/or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 5 years of UX/UI design experience of applications including mobile apps
Comfortable with ambiguity in early product definition stages
Extremely detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to be able to easily multi-task
Be a team player and know what levers to pull to drive successful outcomes
Be comfortable with and effective at cross-functional collaboration
Have basic knowledge of image authoring tools
Be comfortable with Illustrator, Sketch and any other web and mobile designing tool
Have an understanding of cross browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
Practical experience in HTML5, JavaScript, SAP-Fiori, CSS, graphics creation, multimedia creation. Good understanding of version control systems and continuous integration tools, such as Visual Studio Team System or Git
Solid understanding of navigation and GUI for maximizing usability.
Strong knowledge of image manipulation software
Strong knowledge of SAP GUI (Fiori)
Proven skills in designing web front technologies, such as Angular.js and React.js
Understand of Node.js based tooling like NPM, Express JS, etc.
Understand of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3
Experience working with responsive web design
Experience working with reactive web design
Have an eye for clean and artful design, possess superior UI skills,
Ability to translate high-level requirements into interaction flows and artifacts, and transform them into beautiful, intuitive, and functional user interfaces.
Understand customer goals, business requirements, technical constraints, and work within project parameters
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Good knowledge about guidelines for website user accessibility and experience
Ability to work in an environment where creativity, adaptation to change is required
Experience working in an agile software development environment and agile processes
Experience working with architects and developers to create micro-services and applications for consumption by the UX
Ability to work closely with users on their experience and pain-points in order to help drive our design process
Ability to balance user goals with business strategy and technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
Ability to synthesize requirements, technical constraints, user research, data, and analytics into design solutions
Ability to create usability tests and gather feedback for analysis and improvement
Ability to use effective communication and storytelling techniques to bring ideas to life and gain buy-in and adoption across a wide variety of teams and departments.

Establishment of the Shortlist
A shortlist of three to six individual consultants will be established at the end the request of expressions of interest. The consultants on the shortlist will be judged on the following criteria on the basis of their updated resume:
Level of education in general 20%
Educational level compared to the field of mission 20%
Years of experience in general 20%
Number of years of experience relevant to the mission 40%.

The Corporate Information Technology Services Department (TCIS) invites Individual Consultants to indicate their interest in providing the above-described services. Interested Consultants shall provide information on their qualifications and experience demonstrating their ability to undertake this Assignment (CV, reference to similar services, experience in similar assignments, etc.).
The eligibility criteria, the establishment of a short list and the selection procedures shall be in conformity with the Bank’s procedures for the acquisition of consulting services funded by the administrative or capital expenditure.
Interest expressed by a Consultant does not imply any obligation on the part of the Bank to include him/her in the shortlist.
The estimated duration of services is twelve (12) months, and the estimated starting date is 01 March 2023.
