Job Title: Site Engineer

Location: Lagos

Job Brief

• Our needs an innovative and experienced Site Engineer to work closely with the Architect, Engineers, and other team members to plan the construction project.
• You will also be responsible for overseeing the construction progress.
• As a site engineer, you will supervise crew members, prepare estimates for time and material costs, complete quality assurance, observe health and safety standards, compile reports, manage projects, and provide technical advice as a subject matter expert. Our ideal candidate is an industrious go-getter.

Responsibilities

• Completing site pre-inspections before beginning a project and Inspect facilities and analyze operational data.
• Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Compile estimates for technical and material requirements for project development ensuring appropriate materials and tools are available.
• Determine and present estimates of operational costs.
• Evaluate operations and processes and come up with technical solutions for problems that are causing a delay in the projects.
• Suggest process and technical design changes to improve performance and efficiency.
• Implement improvements to designs and processes.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment as required.
• Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to ensure the best contracts.
• Test material and structural integrity.
• Research the environmental impact of projects.
• Incorporate eco-friendly and sustainable features into design plans.
• Create graphical representations of proposed solutions.
• Compile and present reports explaining project details to non-technical stakeholders.
• Gathering data, compiling reports and delivering presentations to relevant stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress, compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
• Direct engineering activities, assign tasks and provide training and support.
• Create work schedules and adjust as needed to meet project deadlines.
• Maintain detailed documentation of all site engineering activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, or a related degree.
• 3+ years Work experience in the Construction company as a Site Engineer, Civil Engineer, or a similar role.
• State-issued certification or engineering license.
• In-depth knowledge of engineering, technology, building, construction, and design.
• A valid driver's license will be mandatory.
• Proficiency in Computer-aided drafting (CAD) software.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Ability to manage tasks as per priorities.
• Exemplary critical thinking, analytical, and complex problem-solving skills.
• Strong time management and project management skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Background experience: Construction
• Ability to maintain a positive work environment.
• Ability to deal with different personalities and remain calm.
• A hardworking and detailed-oriented individual.
