Mission

• To coordinate payments related to BTS rentals, Site Built Contracts, Duties, MTNN subsidiaries, government institutions, specified local payments [CPG and NWG] and APG and domiciliation for relevant suppliers.

Description

• Ensure correct treatment of high value transactions, as errors in such transactions can result in significant financial losses.
• Ensure the alignment of the budget and its expenditure with operational plans of the division, regions and other departments within the divisions.
• Ensure compliance to PPP relating to payment run and other accounting payment processes.   
• Monitor the processing of all local payments in order to ensure effective and smooth payment run process.
• Track expenditure and compile monthly payment reports.
• Ensure adequate provisions are made against all outgoing payments.
• Ensure that established internal controls are strictly adhered to.
• Supervise the preparation and submission of monthly CFO report and monthly signatory performance report.
• Develop, improve and maintain financial policies, processes, procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP requirements and MTN accounting policies.
• Oversee the implementation of all accounts payables processes, policies and procedures and systems.
• Coordinate and implement electronic payment solutions as approved by the business.
• Supervise activities of team in order to ensure that assigned treasury functions are executed correctly, completely and to the required quality and standard.
• Manage correspondence with banks and maintain good relationships with bank team.
• Regularly engage stakeholders to enhance compliance with exchange control regulations.

Educational Qualifications

• First Degree in any related discipline
• A professional accounting qualification (ACA, CPA, ACCA)
• Fluent in English

Experience:

• 3 - 7 years’ experience which includes:
  • Experience in Expenditure/Treasury Operations processes and activities in financial services sector
  • Experience in large volume supplier payments
  • Experience in bank reconciliation
  • Experience working in a medium organization
