We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Senior Database Administrator
Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Main Responsibilities
Take the lead in database design
Mapping out the conceptual design for a planned database;
Refining the logical design so that it can be translated into a specific data model;
Further refining the physical design to meet system storage requirements;
Updating and amending existing databases
Setting up and testing new database and data handling systems
Monitoring database efficiency
Sustaining the security and integrity of data
Creating complex query definitions that allow data to be extracted
Training colleagues in how to input and extract data
Developing, managing and testing back-up and recovery plans;
Ensuring that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly;
Communicating regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security;
Key team player in the local Application management by leveraging on technology
Develop tactical tool in order to streamline or bring more efficiency within processes
Give support to other Software vendors on CBS interface or 3rd parties
Key team player in supporting the IT assets management and upgrade
Establishing the needs of users and monitoring user access and security;
Monitoring performance and managing parameters to provide fast responses to frontend users;
Considering both back-end organization of data and front-end accessibility for end users
Maintaining data standards, including adherence to the Data Protection Act;
Writing database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata)
Necessary Experience, Skills and Knowledge
At least a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required.
Minimum of 5 years of Technical experience within IT industry and preferably within the banking industry
Experience in developing logical and physical data models using data modeling tools
Good Knowledge Of Microsoft Excel (Formulas, Pivot tables, V-lookup) and Office
Good Knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems (RDMS)
Efficient use of Microsoft SQL 2012, Strong SQL development, SQL analytics, tuning skills
Programming/development skills using PL/SQL (package, procedures, functions, triggers) and batch coding skills such as Bulk collections, dynamic SQL, parallel processing
Experience designing partitioned and non-partitioned tables, indexes, temporary tables and external tables to maximize storage and performance
Experience with Windows Server 2008/19, SQL Server 2008/19, Windows 7-10, Microsoft Office 2007/2010/2013/2016, Microsoft 365
Knowledge of ITSM frameworks and practices including ITIL, ISO27001
Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to complete tasks in a timely manner.
Experience in IT operations of E-Banking or Online banking services
Knowledge of Web Interfaces and PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, ASP.NET
