Job Title: Senior PHP YII Backend Developer

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Brief Description

• The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with the YII 2 framework, a strong understanding of backend development principles, and additional experience with other programming languages and technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the development and maintenance of backend applications using the YII 2 framework
• Mentor junior developers and provide guidance on best practices and coding standards
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards
• Troubleshoot and debug issues as they arise
• Research and recommend new technologies to improve system performance and scalability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience as a PHP Backend Developer or a similar role
• Strong experience with YII 2 framework.
• Experience with other programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, Ruby is a plus
• Strong understanding of database management (MySQL, MongoDB, etc.)
• Experience with Git and version control systems
• Strong understanding of web development concepts and technologies
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization
• (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus
• Understanding security best practices and experience with security tools is a plus
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies is a plus
• Experience leading or mentoring teams is a plus
• Professional certifications in PHP development or cloud platforms is a plus.
