We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Porter

Location: Lekki, Lagos

Reporting to: Guest Experience Manager, FOM, GM

Main Purpose of the Job

• To manage the Porter and security, which is a primary point of contact for members of staff and visitors to the Residence.
• A central point of communication, responsible for security of the residence, vital to the effective functioning of the residence’s operations and supportive to the welfare of Customers.

General Key responsibilities
The Porter is responsible for:

• Welcoming guest to the residence
• Helping guests by carrying luggage
• Telling them about the hotel facilities
• Arranging taxis and booking tickets
• Giving directions to guest
• Responding to safety and security issues
• Answering queries and making reservations
• Covering reception duties when required.
• Explaining how any equipment works, such as TV controls
• Handling lost property, disturbances, intruders and car parking.
• Working closely with the security and local police
• Facilitate building evacuations when Fire Alarms have been activated and liaise with emergency services when needed
• Working closely with other on-duty Porter(s) on any matters that are likely to be relevant for their shift.
• Conducting regular safety and security checks including, but not limited to: weekly fire alarm tests, weekly water checks on all taps in the building, Monthly checks of First Aid boxes and ladders and Maintain records reflecting these checks.
• Liaising with colleagues to check guest accommodation bookings and, where required, meet guests to issue room keys, advise them of accommodation procedures and direct them to their apartments.
• Receive mail and goods delivered to the Residence
• The Porter is required to be on duty at the time of Formal Halls, Guest Nights.
• The porter may be called upon at any time if there is an emergency.
• The Porter has responsibility for security of the Residence premises
• Handles lost property, disturbances, intruders and car parking.
• Undertakes such other duties, consistent with the purpose of the job, as may be assigned
• From time to time.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess an SSCE, OND, or HND qualifications with 0-2 years experience.
