God’s City International Church is a multicultural church inaugurated on the 1st of May 2016 under the leadership of Pastor Matthew and Pastor Mrs. Mary Morakinyo with an assignment to preach the gospel and with the help of the Holy Spirit, deliver people from sin, sickness, power of darkness, poverty, restoration of destiny and nurture them to be a mobile fire to also carry out the same assignment.

Job Description

• We are seeking an Evangelist, who through love for God and his word passionately seek souls to proclaim to them the glad tidings of Jesus Christ, to “win” these souls, and disciple them that they may propagate the Kingdom of God through our ministry.

Responsibilities
The Evangelist’s primary responsibilities includes but are not limited to the following:

• Preach the Gospel in all manner of situations and places.
• In line with the mandate of the Ephesians 4 fivefold ministries, the evangelist identifies, develops, and deploys evangelistic gifts in others.
• Disciple others and help them grow in sharing the good news of the Kingdom of God with those who don’t know Christ.
• Seek out mission opportunities.
• Work with other evangelists to achieve objectives set by HODs/Line Managers
• Act as a first point of response from requests in harvest fields.
• Organise and participate in the training and encouragement of Christians in their harvest fields to be involved in outreach generally and in specific missions.
• Ensure the provision of follow up for contacts made during an outreach, that responders are nurtured in faith and welcomed into the closest GCIC church/group.
• Liaise with all GCIC staff generally to ensure communication is maintained between the ministry and the local contacts in their harvest fields.
• Always be a good ambassador of the ministry, and actively promote the vision and work of ministry.
• Work within the set structure to ensure new converts are properly discipled to fulfil their purpose and positively impact ministry/church growth.
• Where appropriate, work with other “structures” involved in outreach to develop outreach opportunities and collaboration.
• Perform confidential tasks and special projects as needed.
• Perform other related duties and assist with other task and projects assigned by The Senior Pastor.

Requirements

• Relevant educational qualifications.
• Born-again Christian, hardworking and in good standing with their local church and the broader Christian community generally, as set out in 1 Timothy 3: 1- 15 and Titus 1: 5-9
• A good communicator and an unparallel passion for evangelism and the work of God.
• Practical, verifiable hands-on experience of running evangelistic missions/outreaches.
• Ability to work effectively alone and with a team.
• Ability to relate well to a massive variety of personalities and, especially, to understand the unique calling and roles of church leaders
• Ability to teach and train others in faith-sharing, particularly calling on his or her own journey for examples.
• Ability to communicate a passion and a strategy for mission - the why and the how
• Experience of and reliance in the power of prayer
• Experience of preparing and participation in missions
• Experience of people management and supervision.
• Performs tasks with an appropriate level of confidentiality.
• Integrity, trust, and spiritual awareness
• Flexible hours for availability (including evenings and weekends)
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Ability work with a diversity of people is essential
• Very high attention to detail.

• The ideal candidate should be driven and have a passion for evangelism. He/She must be personable, have good knowledge of the word and should always be able to communicate this knowledge and the good news of Jesus Christ effectively toward seeking new converts. These new converts are then discipled and established within the structures provided by the ministry.
