The Eye Foundation Hospital was started in 1993 as a high tech specialist eye hospital capable of providing services comparable to those obtainable abroad. It is the first and foremost indigenous eye practice in the country that runs a group practice with many sub specialized ophthalmologists.
Eye Foundation Hospital Group (EFHG) has a vision to eliminate avoidable blindness through the provision of equitable, qualitative, quantitative and affordable eye care to all. EFHG delivers care in the public and private sectors, and contributes to improving eye care in Nigeria through its training programme for eye care practitioners and outreach activities. Eye Foundation Community Hospital (EFCH) was established in 2006 as the social enterprise arm of Eye Foundation Hospital Group to further extend quality eye care to poor, vulnerable, less-privileged people in the society. The Social Enterprise arm of the Eye Foundation Hospital Group is part of a sustainable infrastructure to drive the Group’s vision to eliminate avoidable blindness in Nigeria.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Project Officer
Location: Ijebu-Imushin, Ogun
Report to: Programme Manager
Job Summary
The Project Officer will be responsible for ensuring effective implementation of project activities and tasks to attain goals and objectives of KHEFA.
He will be responsible for overseeing project work-plan performance, participating in planning, budgeting, implementation, monitoring, reporting and programme development.
Responsibilities and Duties
Program Management Support:
Support the Programme Manager to define project tasks and resource requirements
Support in developing, implementing and updating project management tools including financial plans, trackers and systems
Provide technical assistance in developing project work plans and appropriately costing inputs and resources
Support the Programme manager in writing proposals to donors and following up with donors.
Participate in outreach planning programmes including engagement of stakeholders in communities and deployment of personnel for outreaches.
Support the relationship management of stakeholders, partners and donors, including preparation of terms of reference (TORs), budgets and on-going management of inputs and deliverables
Support the Programme Manager in coordinating training activities of the academy.
Support in managing the training calendar of trainees in the Academy.
Undertake other program administration tasks as assigned
Data Management, Documentation and Reporting:
Ensure high quality data recording and periodic reporting according to project timeframes
Responsible for managing project database and other M &E tools
Provide support to the Programme Manager on data retrieval from outreach coordinators
Support activities of learning at respective institutions and ensure they are properly documented, disseminated and effectively stored
Assist in Coordinating the development of reports, newsletters and other communication of the institutions
Collate weekly vision center reports and routinely verify reports generated
Provide technical assistance in the review of data from health facilities
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports
External Relations:
Maintain and regularly update a directory of partners, donors, international and local NGOs, companies and other partners and stakeholders
Assist in developing and managing relationships with local and international stakeholders, using these to support the development of new partnerships and programmes
Represent the institutions externally in some circumstances (media, speaking opportunities, event representation, exhibitions and workshops)
Work with the Progamme Manager in Coordinating visibility and profile raising of the organizations across various platforms - including advertisements, events, communications, programmes, promotions aimed at sponsors, promoters, partners, influencers and general public.
Qualification and Experience
Minimum of B.Sc Degree in Public Health or medical related degree from a reputable institution.
Minimum of 3 years NGO experience is mandatory
Experience in training, development and interventions is an added advantage
Must be an intermediate user of Microsoft Office Suite {Word, Excel, and PowerPoint}
