Job Summary

• We are seeking a Communications Manager for developing and implementing the communications strategy for the organisation.
• Successful candidate will work closely with the organisation’s leadership team to develop messaging that effectively conveys the mission and values of the organization, while also engaging stakeholders, donors, and the broader community.
• The Communications Manager will oversee all aspects of the organization's communication efforts, including public relations, media outreach, social media, website management, and content creation.

Job Description

• Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with the organization's overall mission and goals.
• Create and oversee the production of all communication materials, including press releases, newsletters, annual reports, social media content, and website updates.
• Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets and journalists, pitching stories and securing media coverage for the organization.
• Manage the organization's social media accounts, ensuring regular updates and engagement with followers.
• Monitor media coverage and industry trends, and provide regular reports to the leadership team.
• Work closely with program staff to identify and promote success stories, and develop compelling content that demonstrates the impact of the organization's work.
• Manage the organization's website, ensuring it is up-to-date, user-friendly, and reflective of the organization's brand and messaging.
• Plan and execute events, including press conferences, fundraisers, and other promotional activities.
• Serve as a spokesperson for the organization, responding to media inquiries and representing the organization at events and conferences.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure consistent messaging and effective communication across all aspects of the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in communications, public relations, or marketing, preferably in the non-profit sector.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas to a variety of audiences.
• Demonstrated experience in media relations, with a strong network of media contacts.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Experience managing social media accounts and creating content for a variety of platforms.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
• Experience working in a team environment, with a collaborative and positive attitude.
• Knowledge of non-profit operations and fundraising strategies preferred.
• Passion for our mission and a commitment to making a difference in the world.

Additional Skills:

• Microsoft 365 Suite (Sharepoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Zoho, Mailchimp.
• Excellent in copywriting, content writing and contextualization.
