Job Title: Head, Data Management & Platforms

Job Description

• Design and manage the data warehouse of the bank
• Create and enforce policies for effective data management
• Work closely with both IT and the business units to optimize and maintain this data warehouse
• Design and build scalable, robust, and efficient data infrastructure to support our data needs.
• Develop and maintain ETL pipelines to move data from various sources into our data warehouse
• Develop and maintain database schema, data models, and data dictionaries
• Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide solutions
• Develop and enforce data quality standards and best practices
• Lead a team of data engineers and provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members
• Keep up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and recommend new tools and solutions as appropriate
• Design and maintain the data governance framework of the bank
• Adopt best practices in data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
• Develop standards of operation when handling and archiving data
• Integrate up-and-coming data management and data engineering technologies into existing data structures
• Develop set processes for data mining, data modeling, and data production.
• Collaborate with senior members of DAO team on all projects and goals.
• Apply broad knowledge of technology options, technology platforms, design techniques and approaches across the data warehouse life cycle phases to design an integrated, quality analytics service to address business requirements, including Azure, Hadoop, and other cloud-based products
• Regularly assess system performance and make recommendations for hardware, software, and data storage improvements
• Maintain and monitor the Data Quality Index (DQI)
• Design and deliver project(s) to clean bank’s data and ramp up DQI score
• Evaluate and standardize data input across data platforms of entry
• Recommend different ways to constantly improve data reliability and quality
• Provide technical/team leadership to the Data Management & Platforms team
• Troubleshoot operational data-quality issues and implement solutions
• Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Chief Data & Analytics Officer (CDAO)

Requirements

• Minimum education level - First Degree with Minimum of Second (2nd) Class Lower in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of experience in data engineering, database management, and ETL processes
• Strong proficiency in SQL and database technologies (e.g. PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, etc.)
• Experience with cloud-based data warehousing solutions (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse Analytics, etc.)
• Experience with at least one ETL tool (e.g., Talend, Apache Nifi, AWS Glue, etc.)
• Experience with data modeling and schema design
• Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Scala, etc.)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
