Job Title: Senior Journalist and Analyst

Job Description

• Every week, the candidate is expected to file at least three strong, well-researched, data-backed, and original reports that are away from mainstream media.
• Work directly with the associate and managing editors to develop story ideas that resonate with the audience and are based on happenings in his coverage area.

This senior-level journalist and analyst position focuses on health, the economy, and repressive cultural practices. Therefore:

• The candidate must be available and ready to do original on-the-field reporting.
• The candidate must have a strong understanding of Nigeria's economic workings, health challenges and traditional and cultural beliefs and practices that limit good health, progress, social freedom, self-actualisation, innovation and development in Nigeria.
• Must have a solid analytical ability, a great skill to understand and interpret concepts, and must have been practising investigative or journalism for at least five years.
• The ideal candidate must have strong communication and writing ability and be able to submit stories that are good enough to require minimal or no editing.
• The candidate must have a rich bank of sources spread across sectors and communities in Nigeria, including academic authorities, nonprofit leaders, community leaders, political leaders, grassroots leaders and community members, etc. These are sources the senior journalist/analyst can easily access or call to get comments and verify facts to lend authority to his stories.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree / Master's Degree with 5 - 10 years work experience. 

Salary
N100,000 - N150,000 monthly.
