Description

• The African Development Bank hereby invites individual consultants to indicate their interest for providing financial and economic analysis of water and sanitation projects in regional member countries in Africa.
• The objective of the assignment is to undertake the financial, social, and economic analysis of selected water and sanitation projects in the Regional Member Countries (RMCs) in Eastern Africa, Southern Africa and Nigeria
• The consultant will prepare detailed financial and economic analysis and as much as possible quantify the social implications of water and sanitation operations to determine the financial and economic viability of projects and inform the Bank decision on financing projects in RMCs.

Requirements

• The Consultant must possess at least a Master’s degree in Finance, Business and/or Economics or related fields and a minimum of 8 years’ experience in project cycle activities, in particular preparation, appraisals, monitoring and evaluation, and preparation of completion reports.
• Experience in project preparation and management financed by Multilateral and Bilateral Development Institutions, as well as experience in preparing new operations in Water and Sanitation or infrastructure and social projects will be an added advantage.
• The candidate must have strong analytical, interpersonal, and excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English language.

• The Water Security and Sanitation Division 2 (AHWS2) invites individual consultants to indicate their interest in providing the above-described services. Interested eligible Individual Consultants shall provide information on their qualifications and experience demonstrating their ability to undertake this assignment (documentation, references for similar services, experience in similar assignments, etc.).
• The eligibility criteria, the establishment of a short list and the selection procedure shall be in conformity with the African Development Bank’s Rules and Procedure for Acquisition of Consulting Services funded by the Administrative or Capital Expenditure Budget.
• Please, note that interest expressed by a consultant does not imply any obligation on the part of the Bank to include her or him on the shortlist.
• The estimated duration of services for the assignment will last for six (6) months, with the possibility to be extended for additional six (6) months and may include field visits to the project sites. The assignment’s starting date is April 10 2023.
