Brief Description of the Assignment

• The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) wishes to recruit a Junior Business Intelligence Developer.
• He/She will be responsible for developing and maintaining business intelligence solutions that support data analysis, reporting, and decision-making processes.
• He/She will work closely with other members of the development team to design, develop and maintain data models, ETL 1 processes, dashboards, and reports. He/She will also collaborate with end-users to gather requirements and provide support as needed.

Introduction

• The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) wishes to recruit a Junior Business Intelligence Developer. He/She will be responsible for developing and maintaining business intelligence solutions that support data analysis, reporting, and decision-making processes.
• He/She will work closely with other members of the development team to design, develop and maintain data models, ETL2 processes, dashboards, and reports.
• He/She will also collaborate with end-users to gather requirements and provide support as needed.

Supervision of the Mission:

• The consultant will perform the assignment under the supervision of BI Team Lead within Corporate Application Services (TCIS.1) division.
• The assignment can start as soon as possible.

Scope of Work

• Work with the development team to design and develop business intelligence solutions.
• Develop, maintain and optimize data models and ETL using tools such as Talend, Power Automate, Power Query.
• Create, maintain and update dashboards and reports using business intelligence tools such as Power BI, OBIEE, SAP Web Intelligence.
• Collaborate with end-users to gather and understand their requirements.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for end-users as needed.
• Monitor and analyze the performance of business intelligence solutions, making recommendations for improvements.
• Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in business intelligence and data analysis.

Qualifications and Experience

• Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field with at least 2 years of experience.
• Be under 32 years of age on 31-DEC-2023.
• Experience with data modeling, ETL processes & tool such as Talend, Power Automate, Power Query.
• Experience with database technologies such as Oracle DB, SQL Server, or MySQL.
• Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, OBIEE, SAP Web Intelligence.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, DAX or Python is a plus.
• Knowledge of the ERP SAP4HANA and/or SAP4HANA Embedded analytics will be highly appreciate.

Deliverables:
The Junior Developer is expected to deliver the following:

• A well-documented ETL workflow and scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
• A well-documented report or dashboard for data analytics.
• Documentation of the ETL process and data analytics procedures.
• Any related project artifacts as required by the project.

Remuneration

• The consultant will receive a monthly lump sum rate based on his experience. No additional benefits or per diem will be paid. The individual consultant is responsible for his/her own health insurance and own accommodation.
