Job Title: Retail Manager

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • Candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the retail outlets of the business, creating and implementing strategies that ensure proper supervision of staff, stock and resource management, and the financial performance of the retail business.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with various departments within the organization to ensure business objectives are met.

Responsibilities
The following job description sets out the duties which you are to provide as a Retail Manager. The lists included for the Job description are not exhaustive and further requirements may be added:

  • Develop strategies and ideas for the retail business.
  • Recruit, select, orientate and train employees.
  • Prepare an annual budget, schedule expenditures, analyze variances, and initiate corrective action.
  • Approve contracts and maintain inventories to ensure availability of merchandise and services.
  • Review merchandizing activities, formulate pricing policies, and authorize clearance sales.
  • Manage the retail business, identify prospective patterns and discuss with the MD for onboarding.
  • Work with procurement for supply chain management.
  • Strategize on market penetration plan.
  • Explore possibilities of online options for retail.
  • Manage staff (in-store) and in the office for business improvement and growth.
  • Ensure optimum customer service, retention, and satisfaction.
  • Explore possible areas of partnerships with local and foreign OEMs.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in retail management.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading a team of staff.
  • Knowledge of retail operations and management practices.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic orientation.
  • Business development and Market research skills.
  • Product management skills.
  • Bid and sales administration skills.
  • Selling and Negotiation skills.
  • Leadership and people management competencies.
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate pricing policies, review merchandising activities and study trends.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and networking skills.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to ensure optimum customer satisfaction.
  • Agility to adapt to changing market conditions and consumer preferences.

Salary
N350,000 - N400,000 monthly
